Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
THIS book! This is the best book I read this year and I immersion read this thang! This is yet to be reviewed but I will give you a few reasons why I love this book. 1. It is in a unique format, 2. the audiobook is fantawsome! (fantastic and awesome) and is read by multiple narrators, 3. Amie and Jay are cool! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
oh my gosh this book! I listened to this via audiobook and the narrator Tavia Gilbert, is amazing! The whole Night Huntress series is equally amazing but the first and the second (One Foot in the Grave) books are the best of the bunch!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I can’t stop gushing about this book! I’ve never read about Chimeras and angels in one book and this one just blew me away. It also leans toward the NA genre which I liked (because of the themes).
When a Scott Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare
Scottish. Spinster. Historical Romance. Need I say more? I really love this third installment of the Castles Ever After series.
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Another shocking amazing book! I can’t believe it took me this long to read this! Aliens. Invasion. And one kick-ass girl! Hell to the yeah! This is told in 3 POVs and this style is just perfect! Also read by 3 multiple narrators – audiobook heaven.
The Duke and the Lady in Red by Lorraine Heath
Another historical romance here where the heroine is a con artist!
Winter by Marissa Meyer
The end of one of my favorite series is here and I just can’t! I swear I had major book hangover when I finished this book. Plus THORNE!
A Cold Legacy by Megan Shepherd
Frankenstein. Classic retelling. Frankenstein. Mr. Hyde. It has everything! This darkly Gothic historical YA series also ended this year, and I didn’t even want this to end!
Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza
A teen AI/robot that has human feelings and ACTS like one? Teens on the run? I was blown away by this series and the author. This was one of the authors that I first read in 2015 and I can’t wait to read the third book in the series.
Legend by Marie Lu
Another series that I just read this year that blew me away! Such amazing characters and intriguing dystopia concept. There was a love triangle in here but oddly enough, I wasn’t bothered at all!
Let’s Discuss
Did any of these books make your list? If not, do you recommend any books that I should read ASAP?
So, I have recently decided to give Historical Romance another shot and someone on my blog recommended Tessa Dare! I was glad to see her on your list! She is a new to me author so I don’t even know where to start!

OMG! Her Castle Ever After series is just GOLD! She also has a Spindle Cove series that is pretty good (I haven’t read all of the books in that series yet). Glad you found her!
