Happy Tuesday, Wormies! This week, I am showing you 8 new to me authors I read this year! Now, I’m one of those readers who hesitate before reading a new-to-me author so I really don’t have a long list. I am featuring the author and the favorite book I read from them, which are not necessarily published in 2016.
Jennifer Probst is probably the author that made me try reading more small-town contemporary romances. I love her writing style, and her sassy female characters and alpha males. Also, Searching for Beautiful is the best book I have read from her so far.
After reading a few books from Jennifer Probst, I decided to try Kristen Proby because her audio was on sale on Audible. I found another fave! The best book I’ve read from her is Listen to Me, which features an ex-musician and an ex-model.
Kerri Maniscalco is a debut author so it’s pretty obvious why she is on this list. What I can say is that Stalking Jack the Ripper is just amazing! I LOVE to read more Victorian themed books!
I have heard about Melissa de la Cruz before, but since I am pretty sick of vampires, I didn’t really try reading her books. That is, until Something in Between. I absolutely LOVE this book. Plus #OwnVoices.
Rainbow Rowell is one of the most popular authors on this list in both YA and adult genre. And I admit to not having read any of her books. For Yallwest this year, I decided to get a copy of her book and have it signed by her for my little cousin who hasn’t had any books signed. Well, I decided to read Fangirl and it delighted me so much!
Didn’t I just say that I am through with vampires? Well, I decided to pick up Dark Lover, the first book in the Black Brotherhood series by J.R.Ward and I was blown away! I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I may!
Not a lot of YA titles interest me as much as Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series. The Mistake is probably the best book in the series!
I admit to being drawn by the gorgeous covers. Marie Rutkoski’s The Winner’s Curse series has the most amazing covers evaaarrr so I had to pick it up. And what do you know, I fell in love with the story! Plus the father-daughter relationship was stellar!
Do you have any new-to-you authors on this list?
Have you read any of the authors mentioned? What books are your favorites from them?
I *loved* Stalking Jack The Ripper! I’m looking forward to the next two books in the series! My TTT

Yes!!! Me too, Carrie!
I almost added Kerri Maniscalco, but to keep my list at 10 I left off authors without other books for me to read ASAP. But I did love Stalking Jack the Ripper, and I will read the sequel as soon as it comes out.

Oh me too, Kate! I don’t really have a lot of new authors read this year! haha
Woohoo Elle Kennedy! She’s amazing. I love those first few from Ward’s series, too. Mmm Zsadist. He’s so good!
