Because I read both adult and YA, I decided to separate the best book covers. Of course, both genres have different cover aesthetics which can hardly be compared to each other. I have also posted about Eye Catching Titles and Book Covers and Eye Catching Book Covers in a discussion post before. I admit, I did two posts and this is my third one this year but I don’t care because COVERS are gorgeous! Both previous posts are books I have read but this post includes books I have on my TBR pile.
Gorgeous YA Book Covers
Winter by Marissa Meyer
It is obvious by the cover that Winter is a retelling of Snow White. But that aside, the cover is gorgeous! It follows the same cover feel as Cinder, Scarlet and Cress – minimalistic but beautiful.
Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
Another gorgeous cover that follows the other two in the series: These Broken Stars, This Shattered World. Plus, the gown! Currently reading this book right now and I am loving it!
A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston
This is a book that I haven’t read before but is on my TBR pile. I really love the gorgeous simplicity of this cover, and the font choice is perfect.
Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
I also haven’t read this book yet but I read A Thousand Pieces of You (book #1) and this cover follows the same theme as the first – both perfect for framing! I love the gorgeous painting-like effect of the cover, including the gorgeous color choices.
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley
As you’ve already noticed, I tend to love minimalistic covers. That one feather in the cover is perfect. It also gives us a hint of what to expect in the story.
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
This cover is unique. If you take out the cover sleeve in the hardbound book, you will also see the naked binding designed in blocked out words and other notations, which helps in the overall feel of the whole book. If you haven’t read this book yet, what are you waiting for? This is one of the best books to read in 2015!
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge
Although I didn’t like this book a lot, I LOVE the cover! The green with that small flash of read hood is visually appealing. It also gives us a hint of what this book is: a retelling of The Little Red Riding Hood with Greek mythology themes.
Soundless by Richelle Mead
Another book on my TBR with a cover that I absolutely love! First, the cover is NOT whitewashed! Second, it reeks female badassery.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
A crow wing taking up most of the cover screams gorgeousness. This striking cover is beautifully Gothic. Also on my TBR pile.
Mechanica by Betsy Cornwell
Another book that is on my TBR pile. I have been waiting to read this for a while now. The cover reminds me of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, too. The gears on the lower half of the book adds to the overall theme of the story.
Gorgeous Adult Fiction Book Covers
Lord Dashwood Missed Out by Tessa Dare
I will be reading this sometime soon. But yes, the gorgeousness of the white gown is just PERFECT! Plus, hot guy topless.
Four Nights with the Duke by Eloisa James
That off white gown (yes, I love white dresses) and the back! Obs gowns are my favorite historical romance covers, yeah?
All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue by Sophie Jordan
The pink gown and the overall pink cover caught my eye immediately! Despite pink NOT being my favorite color, I seem to be attracted to it these days. From clothing to shoes to purses to book covers. Plus, the gown, too.
The Duke and the Lady in Red by Lorraine Heath
A red gown and the exposed sexy back. SOLD! Of course, it helps that the author is Lorraine Heath.
Scandal Takes the Stage by Eva Leigh
Dark haired heroine in a red gown. need I say more?
Desire Me Now by Tiffany Clare
This book is a historical erotic romance with a darker theme and the cover complements the whole story perfectly.
Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost
A topless Vlad. And abs.
Dukes are Forever by Anna Harrington
A green and gold gown and a redhead heroine! Perfect for adding to my shelf!
When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare
The kilt says it all! Who doesn’t love a man in a kilt?
Eight Grave After Dark by Darynda Jones
I haven’t really gotten into reading Darynda Jones BUT this cover, though! I love the minimalistic cover with the periwinkle palette.
Which covers made your list? Have you read any of the books listed above? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
10,000 Skies, 1,000 Nights, Illuminae, and Six of Crows are on my list as well! Magonia almost was. Ahh, all of these are so gorgeous!!! (I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees Princess and the Frog on the Mechanica cover!)
