What Happens When You Shop with Another Romance Lover
with Crystal @ Crystal Blogs Books & Zeee @ I Heart Romance & YA
Happy Sunday, Wormies! Welcome to one of my newest features! This is a collab between me and Crystal @ Crystal Blogs Books and we plan to do this feature every time we go used book shopping! Aheemm I hope it won’t be once a month (please make it be once a month)!
Anyway, Crystal and I have been meeting up in the last year or so to go to various Friends of the Library book sales and used bookstores in the area. We basically spend the day together talking about romance books, convincing each other to “buy that book already,” and basically trying to see which one bought more and which one spent more on books. Fueled by coffee and lunch, we usually spend a fun-filled day combing through A LOT of shelves multiple times just to find our MUST HAVE books.
By the way, this is all hush, hush because we don’t want our families to know how many books we bought.
Since I love Young Adult books, YA titles are up on my list to buy. I mostly buy books that I have read before and loved for my collection. Unfortunately, YA titles are a little bit pricey BUT I was able to find awesome bargains!
Young Adult & New Adult
I have read Her Dark Curiosity and A Cold Legacy by Megan Shepherd and I WANT to own the trilogy! I found books 2 and 3 in AMAZING condition so I grabbed them at a discounted price!
Legend by Marie Lu is another book I read and I can’t wait to own the trilogy! I will be on the lookout! Since it’s in hardback, I will collect hardback copies of the series.
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa and White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout are books that I want to read.
Next up is my adult romance haul. And I mean HAUL! OMG! The library sale that we went to basically told us that 1 bag of mass market paperbacks were $2! Yes. ANYTHING that fits in the bag was $2! Of course, Crystal and I shared the bag, so basically, I ended up paying $1 for my half!
These books are too many to list but let’s just say that I own duplicates of some of these books. Ehemm… Well, we can’t have too many duplicates, right?
Contemporary Romance
Historical Romance
I haul is also mostly historical romance because I LOVE HR so much! And yeah, apparently, I have a lot of Julia Quinn books already so I decided to go ahead and collect all her books as well. Oh, and did you see that JQ UK edition? OMG!
Lisa Kleypas is another auto-buy and although I have a number of her books already, some of them are still in my childhood home in the Philippines! Another author that I love is Sabrina Jeffries and I am also collecting her books as well.
The Numbers
5 YA/NA books
3 Contemporary Romance books
15 Historical Romance books
Grand Total: 23 BOOKS
I’m pretty sure Crystal won this haul. ?
Do you buy used books? Where do you buy them?
I know I buy some books at Book Outlet and I have been pretty lucky there, but they don’t have a lot of historical romances.
Or are you one of those people who only buy brand new books? Share your thoughts below!
It’s posts like these that made me wish I was better able to read physical books. You have two of my YA faves (Legend, Iron King), and a bunch of great romances (I loved Remember Me?). I hope you enjoy them all.

Sam… these books are mostly for my collection since it’s easier for me to listen to the audiobook or read digitally ☺️
Library sales are the best!

Yes, they are!
OH MY GOODNESS!! You have the best HR loot of books. I love all of these books here. Julia Quinn is great, especially her older books. And I love Sabrina Jeffries and you grabbed some of my favorites. The Forbidden Lord is pretty hilarious. I got a kick out that series. And I adore Tempt Me At Twilight and Someone To Watch Over Me. Both wonderful books to grab up.

I’ve already read some of these, Renee and I just bought it for my collection. I have to read Sabrina Jeffries’ The Forbidden Lord and Tempt Me at Twilight needs to be reread! Also, I reread Someone to Watch Over Me last year ?
Beautiful Bastard is one of my favorite books! You got some great deals it looks like. I don’t buy a lot of used books, but when I do, it is at Half Price Books. Great haul! You can check out my new additions in my Sunday Post linked below!

Beautiful Bastard was an amazing audiobook but I really wanted to collect the books, too! We don’t have Half Price Books here and we have Book Off… only, it’s pretty far from where I live.. LOL
Woo hoo! That’s quite a haul! (Don’t worry, I won’t tell.) 🙂
