Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Happy Tuesday, readers! It’s been a while since I posted a Top Ten Tuesday post but I’m excited to share with you a newly discovered genre that I absolutely can’t get enough of – STEAMPUNK! I know, I know, I am pretty much late into this genre but I am planning to remedy that.
Here are some Steampunk books you need to add to your TBR pile (if you haven’t already done so).
Also, please note that I have basically only read a few Steampunk books because
EVERNIGHT by Kristen Callihan
OMG! That was my reaction when I read this book. I was blown away by the awesomeness that was Holly Evernight and Will Thorne! I love this spin on Beauty and the Beast and it’s a definite must read. This book is about Holly Evernight who has the power to manipulate iron and a Sanguis demon who she created an iron heart by force. Yeah. DRAMA! And holy hotness Batman!
THE FALCONER by Elizabeth May
I didn’t expect much with The Falconer. In fact, I have been putting this off for a number of years. Little did I know that this book would ABSOLUTELY BLOW ME AWAY! I love the YA elements to this plus, there isn’t really a romance! And did I mention that there is a mysterious fae prince?
CLOCKWORK ANGEL by Cassandra Clare
Even though I am not a fan of The Mortal Instruments, I absolutely enjoyed Clockwork Angel. In fact, I breezed through the 3 books in this series!
Steampunk Books that I need to Read ASAP
I am now on the lookout for these books! I have already added these books to my TBR pile with my goal to read these book before the end of this year!
Have you read any books listed here? Which ones should I read first?

Soulless and the rest of the Parasol Protectorate series is SO great! Really funny and full of great characters. And if you like it there is a prequel YA series that I also really enjoyed; first book is Etiquette and Espionage. I loved The Falconer too. Otherwise I haven’t read much steampunk, I’ll have to add some of these to my list! The fact that you loved Clockwork Angel without liking TMI has me interested because I only read City of Bones and wasn’t impressed. I tend to go for steampunk-lite it seems, like Timekeeper and The Dark Unwinding.

Oh Morgan, Clockwork Angel is more steampunk-lit AND there is a love triangle but everything else worked for me which was why I enjoyed it. I also only read City of Bones and it was bleehh… haha
I started reading Etiquette and Espionage a few years ago but wasn’t into it. I may retry reading it soon! 🙂
I have read Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1) by Gail Carriger, that is a good one too 🙂 also Extracted (The Lost Imperials #1)
by Sherry D. Ficklin and Tyler Jolley

Thanks for the recs, Steph!
I also started reading Etiquette and Espionage a few years ago but I had a hard time getting into it! Maybe this time will be different! 🙂
Gail Carriger is definitely one of my fave steam punk authors. I loved Souless, am slowly working my way through the Finishing School books, and hope to read the Custard Protocol books as well.

She is definitely on my radar! 😀
The Falconer is on my TBR pile. My sister raved about it. Now to find the time to read it!

It is SOOOOO good! I just wish the last 2 books had audiobook versions, though! 🙁
