This book deserves all the stars!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this world! Also, QUEEN NALINI SINGH is definitely appropriate!
I have been dragging my feet on starting this series – because HELLO, there are already 18 books in the series! And this does not include the novellas! Ack! I’ve read Angel’s Blood and also gave it 5 stars, but it seriously can’t hold a candle on how amazing Slave to Sensation is!
But I am seriously kicking myself because I didn’t start reading this book when it first came out! I mean, I know the reason why – I was mostly reading historical romance in 2006! Yes, Slave to Sensation came out in 2006 and I can’t believe how futuristic and still relevant this book is 2019. That was 13 years ago!
The world-building is just AMAZING and very intricate and I can’t believe how this was thought out! I love the thought of a Psy-web! It actually adds a different form of creepiness to the whole plot!
Slave to Sensation is not only a romance novel but it’s also a thriller! In this book, the heroine Sascha is helping the DarkRiver clan – a clan of Changelings (shapeshifters) find a Psy killer! Not only that, Sascha is attracted to the alpha Lucas, who eventually ends up being her mate!
I know I’ve just been talking in superlatives here, but WOW THIS BOOK! I actually finished this book last week and I’m basically having a book hangover! I am currently reading book 2, Visions of Heat and it’s also as good!
I have to point out that Nalini Singh’s writing is absolutely captivating! It sneaks up on you and grabs you until you can’t stop reading (or listening, in my case) the book.
Slave to Sensation is super sexy! While there are not a lot of overly descriptive sexy-times, the chemistry between Lucas and Sascha is scorching! It is a little bit of a slow-burn romance because they finally get together towards the end, but man the build-up is crazy good! I love that their romance continues into book 2!
The only negative I can say here is that we don’t really experience the catching of the villain because it is told to us. I have a morbid fixation and love reading that part.
If you haven’t read Slave to Sensation before or even read a Nalini Singh book before, GO AND READ ONE NOW! I highly, highly recommend this book and series!
