Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Hello, Wormies! Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! Today, I wanted to share 6 of my favorite historical romance series perfect to smuggle in your beach bag! Okay, these books will technically fit if you load them to your kindle buuuut, I swear, when you start reading the first book in the series, you won’t be able to stop!
Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas
This is Lisa Kleypas’ most famous series, I think and it centers around 4 wallflowers who banded together while sitting on the sidelines of the ballroom. These girls wallflowers become really close friends and help each other find their HEA. Also, #feels!
My favorite book in the series is book 1, Secrets of a Summer Night. I am probably the singular here because Devil in Winter, the third book in the series, is the series favorite of the majority.
Also, read the other books related to this series, Again the Magic (my absolute favorite Lisa Kleypas book ever), which is a sort of prequel to the second book, It Happened One Autumn. The other book is the recently released Devil in Spring which is a sequel of Devil in Winter.
The Hellions of Halstead Hall series by Sabrina Jeffries
This series is about the 5 hellion Sharpe siblings tainted by the mysterious and scandalous death of their parents. They are being raised by their non-aristocrat grandmother who runs a brewery and she has had enough! She gives the siblings an ultimatum for all of them to marry within a year or they will all lose their inheritance.
My favorite book in this series is How to Woo a Reluctant Lady because OMG Giles and Minerva are absolutely amazing together!
Also, if you love a good mystery, these 5 books have one mystery connecting them together (see above). You can read these books out of order, however, the mystery is solved at the end of the book. I do suggest you read this series in order, though to get the backstory of the whole family.
The Rules of Scoundrels series by Sarah MacLean
This is one of my favorites series ever! This series is about scandalous aristocrats who are living on the fringes of society but very, very wealthy and they are ready to take back the ton! This features an awesome reveal in the end that is just jaw-dropping amazing!
I have LOTS of favorites in this series! My absolute favorites is One Good Earl Deserves a Lover, followed by A Rogue by Any Other Name, then Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover, and my least favorite, No Good Duke Goes Unpunished (I honestly hate the heroine).
You can also read Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart, which is closely related to A Rogue by Any Other Name. And Ten Ways to be Adored While Landing a Lord mentions the heroine in Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover.
Girl Bachelors series by Laura Lee Guhrke
One of my favorite series by Laura Lee Guhrke features working women or girl bachelorettes. This series features working women who live together in a flat. Of course, these women meet and fall in love with aristocrats but I absolutely love reading about independent women during this time.
My favorite book in the series is Secret Desires of a Gentleman, which is the third book in the series. Of course, I also love And then He Kissed Her and The Wicked Ways of the Duke.
Scoundrels of St. James series by Lorraine Heath
This series is an Oliver Twist retelling and features all the characters from Feagan’s group! I absolutely love this series and this also has a spin-off series!
My absolute favorite is In Bed with the Devil which features the Earl who is rescued from the streets by his aristocratic grandfather when he was accused of murdering someone.
Also, you can read When the Duke Was Wicked, which features the daughter of Frannie and Sterling (Surrender to the Devil) and An Affair with a Notorious Heiress features Frannie and Sterling’s son. Also, Once More, My Darling Rogue features the adoptive son of Frannie and Sterling (see a pattern here?!). The Duke and the Lady in Red also feature Olivia, Duchess of Lovingdon’s son from her first husband before she got her HEA with Jack Dodger (Between the Devil and Desire).
Castles Ever After series by Tessa Dare
This series is about four young ladies who inherit a castle from their godfather.
My favorite book of the series is Say Yes to the Marquess which features a boxer and a lady engaged to his brother! I promise it’s not as nasty as it sounds. 🙂
Do you love binge reading a series?
I absolutely love these romances since it features a different couple in each book.

Oh, thank you for the recommendations! I’ll have to check them out.
You’re welcome, Anna!
YESSS Lisa Kleypas is awesome. From her, I love the Hathaways series as well, the one between Merripen and Winnifred! Also Tessa Dare! I love all her books and I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite from hers. They’re all beautiful and hilarious. Her heroes are all fun and tortured in their own way and it’s always special to know them, specially COLIN from A Week to be Wicked.
Pamela recently posted…The Puzzle Framework Part 2: Arranging the Pieces
YES YES and YES! Also, I love her Hathaways series but my fave is the Wallflowers series… Also Capital Theater and her Bowstreet Runners! OMG I think all of her books are awesome!
I wasn’t a fan of A Week to be Wicked, though 🙁
