Last month’s deets on I Heart Romance & YA
Hey all! November has been awesome for me and my creative juices have been overflowing to the brim! I am so excited to be actively blogging and connecting with other book bloggers. I think this has helped me rediscover my love for blogging.
One of the highlights of my month was meeting Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff at Once Upon A Time Bookstore in Montrose, CA. Take a look at this awesome photo!
BTW, I kind of fan-freaked out but I was able to tell them how much I love the hero’s first name is (it’s Ezra, read about why it is) and told Amie that These Broken Stars made me love YA again! Please excuse the oily face, I didn’t have time to prep before rushing to the bookstore.
Another highlight of my month was the malware horrors that I encountered! Yes, my blog was hacked but I took care of it, however, all my images and stats (below) have disappeared and I still don’t have the time to fix it. So please, pardon the dust.
On a good note, I have read 98 books already! ( think I read more because I reread The Night Huntress novels by Jeaniene Frost multiple times this year and GoodReads doesn’t count rereads, so let’s keep it as 98.

LAST MONTH’S READS
LAST MONTH’S DNF’s & ON-HOLD
As much as I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I had a hard time connecting with the second book. I am putting it on hold for now and maybe start reading it again next month.
FAVORITE MONTH READ
I am a little sad that The Lunar Chronicles has ended. But this turned into my favorite read this month!
MOVIES SEEN
I only saw one movie this month. Pitiful, I know but hubby is at work right now so no movie watching for me. I told him that I HAD to see it before he comes home later this week and his exact words were “Sure, I don’t really like to watch it.” Whaaaa?! But that’s okay. I dragged him to see Frozen a couple of years ago so…
TV MARATHONS
I haven’t been watching a lot of TV shows this month but I did watch a couple of episodes of Jessica Jones on Netflix. It’s dark and different, to say the least. Hubby is coming back this week so we may be binge watching a few TV shows soon.
RANDOM THOUGHTS
I decorated our Christmas Tree over Thanksgiving weekend! I still need to purchase the star topper and wrap a few more gifts but I think the tree is pretty much complete. Coincidentally, I found a lot of black and white objects around the house! Oh and everyone living in our house is represented! And I just had to add a stack of books to the decor, yeah?
Let’s Discuss
How did you do last month? Did you start decorating for the holidays?
Your tree is amazing! I’m a bit jealous. I have to to forego a large tree because I was sick of broken ornaments in the daily battle with 2 curious cats. 🙂
Did you enjoy Miss Peregrine? I just gifted a copy of that book to a good friend of mine for her birthday.

Thanks Terri! My cats are new to the tree and they haven’t played around it as much…. everything else, except for the black balls are all plastic so we don’t have to worry about broken ornaments. haha
Love your pretty tree!! And I’m so jealous that you got to meet Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I could’ve met Amie at a book event last Tuesday, but we had our final performances for our homeschool classes that night. I was so sad!

awww I’m sooo sorry you missed them! They were awesome! We also had one of the narrators of the audiobook read a clip from Illuminae, so much fun!
I also missed seeing Marissa Meyer when she did her Winter tour because of work… 🙁
What a great November you had (aside from the bug issues)! Hope you have a great bookish December and your tree is fantastic!

Thanks for liking my tree, Laura!
I need to watch this Jessica Jones business, I keep hearing about it everywhere! Also, glad you got to see Mockingjay! What did you think? It’s so sweet that you and your husband watch shows and stuff together 🙂
That is AMAZING that you got to meet Amie and Jay too! And your tree looks great! I have decorated zero things. It is bad. I need to obtain a tree, then decorate it, and then hope that small humans don’t pull it down 😉 Sorry about the malware too- that is SO scary. But I am also glad that you got it taken care of, though I can’t imagine how much of a pain that was. Hope that December is a bit more calm for you!! 😀
Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight recently posted…“Hello, it’s me, I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet?”
Jessica Jones is very dark and not for anyone under 18 so be prepared! Mockingjay… awww I cried at the same spot I cried while reading the book: when Katniss broke down in front of Buttercup, the cat… and the parts where Peeta was just too tortured.
Thanks for liking the tree! My mom hates the unconventional B&W theme! Smaller trees can help, not such a hassle to decorate and you can place the high up so small humans can’t touch!
