Last month on I Heart Romance & YA
Happy new month, Wormies! I am currently blogging in Vegas right now and man, did I need this short weekend getaway! Although, I have been really traveling a lot for work this month. In fact, I landed in Burbank on Friday and left Burbank again for Vegas on Saturday. Yeah, I’m such a jet setter right now. Note the sarcasm.
A lot of things happened IRL to me in the month of June. While I won’t discuss the particulars, I just want to say that life is extremely unpredictable.
I didn’t read a lot this month but I have been hopping from book to book throughout this month. At one point, I had up to 11 books that I was “currently reading.”
I only read 8 books in June with 1 DNF. 3 of the 8 books were also rereads! This just goes to show that this month was not the best reading month for me. I’ll try to change that this month but unfortunately, I am also going to be traveling again!
Here’s what my Goodreads snapshot looks like this month. really happy that a lot of the books I read this year have mostly been 3-5 star reads!
My top read this month is Another Sky by Jayne Frost and I can’t get enough of this series! I’ve only read Down to You and I can’t wait to go back and read book 1!

What do you suggest I do to get out of this reading slump?
If you travel a lot, does that mess with your reading routine?

June was a weird month for me as well. The first half of the month was pretty good, but there came a point where I had started 7 books and had no intention of finishing any of them at the moment! I also had a DNF, and two other books that were close to being DNFs. I’m hoping July is better!
I’m also super excited to see that you enjoyed Sins of A Wild Duke! The Duke’s Stolen Bride just came onto my radar, but I wanted to hear more about the author first! And now I have!
I hope your constant traveling comes to an end soon, that you have a super relaxing vacation, and a wonderful July!

Oh! You SHOULD read Sophie Jordan! I LOVE her so much! She writes YA, NA, and Adult romance! My favorites from her are The Ivy Chronicles (new adult), and her Devil’s Rock series (adult romance).
While I was reading Sins of a Wicked Duke, I thought it sounded familiar! I probably read this book YEARS ago and just forgot! (probably pre-Goodreads!)
I love Penny Reid! So looks like you had some good reads this past month. I also listened to the audiobook of Unhoneymooners and really enjoyed it. I’ve not been in a reading slump, but I get the busy part. With moving this past month it really cut into a lot of my blogging/reading time. I had to DNF a few books that I normally might have given a little bit more time to get into. Good luck with this month going better! Traveling sometimes gives me more reading time, sometimes does the opposite.

I know what you mean! Traveling really takes a lot out of your body!
I am so-so on Penny Reid. I may be a minority with her books.
