Last month’s deets on I Heart Romance & YA
Happy NEW MONTH everyone! I still can’t believe that it’s October already! This means, Holloween and costume planning! Now mind you, I’m not in a really Holloweeney mood right now so I may have to forgo the costume. Whaddaya think?
On an awesome note, I am now back on Bookstagram! Why was I out in the first place? Well, it just seemed like I lost my mojo for doing anything in the last couple of months. This includes blogging and reviewing. Heck, reading isn’t even on the top of my priority list at the moment. I guess, burnout has to come sometime, right?
But NO! I am still reading, but maybe not as much as last month.
I am currently at 79 books with my goal of 80! Unfortunately, I am not doing as well with the reviews. Sigh*
FINALLY! Queen of Shadows has been knocked off of its spot from the longest book read by none other than Empire of Storms!
Oh, and did I say that I am 1 book away from my reading goal this year?

September was a month full of disappointing reads. I mean, I WAS SUPER excited for Empire of Storms BUT even if I rated it 4 stars, it was one of my disappointing reads because THE thing WAS TOOOO LONG and it felt like a filler book! Sure, there were some awesome badass war scenes and back stories BUT I think Sarah J. Maas is adding more fluff to extend the whole series.
Secret Desires of a Gentleman is one of my favorite books and it just had to be read again.

So, I finally took the trip to The Ripped Bodice in Culver City last Sunday! I met up with Crystal from Crystal Blogs Books to attend a book signing event for Jill Shalvis, Catherine Bybee, and J. Kenner. How I wish I was close! I mean, I am technically close, but driving through the 101 and 405 is just CRAAAAZZYYY, so I can’t go as often as I want to.
For those of you who don’t know, The Ripped Bodice is the very first and only romance bookstore in the US! I wish I took more photos but I may be going on another trip again so I will try to snap some photos! The bookstore is super cute and quaint and soooo girly! REALLY! Plus, they have a signed Fabio figure in the store, too!
So, I will be attending Leigh Bardugo’s Troublemakers tour with Michael Dante DiMartino on October 4th! Super excited! For those of you who don’t know, Michael Dante DiMartino is one of the creators of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER and The Legend of Korra on Nickelodeon. Pierre and I absolutely LOVE this anime! I am so shipping Prince Zuko and Katara! ehemm…
Up next is Pierre’s promise to finally take me to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter when he comes back from work. So… that will be sometime this month! I’m hoping that the crowds will have died down a little. Also, we are hoping to go on a Monday! or Tuesday and avoid the weekend crowd. Even though Universal Studios Hollywood is just a few miles away, I STILL HAVEN’T GONE! sigh*
I honestly haven’t seen any movies in the theater last month, but I did post this yesterday after I saw the newest Beauty and the Beast trailer.
I mean SERIOUSLY! THEY HAVE TO MAKE THIS SCENE RIGHT or all my dreams will be OVER!
Maybe not so random, but I am addicted to Breaking Benjamin! I mean, have you heard them?! AH-mazing!
Are you excited for October and Holloween? What are your costume plans?
Congrats on almost reaching your reading goal!! 79 books is amazing, 80 is even more amazing! 😉
Ohh, everybody is obsessed with Empire of Storms and I’m like the black sheep in this comunity: still ahven’t started the series… :/
I also can’t wait to see new Beauty and the Beast!

Thank you, Irena! I just wish I can review 80 books! haha also THRONE OF GLASS is AWESOME! I have convinced my husband to even read it. He finished Empire of Storms a few days ago. YOU should read it! 🙂
I’m not a fan of fall because I’m not a fan of colder weather. At this time, I have no costume plans. How about you?

I have a costume in mind so…. I am not spilling at this moment because I want it to be a surprise! 🙂
I absolutely LOVE cold weather! Summer/heat just makes me cranky hehe
I want to go to the Ripped Bodice! It seriously sounds so much fun! I’m totally loving Jill Shalvis’ new series. How’d you like The Goal? I’ve been debating getting back to that series…

If you come to LA, Cyn def stop by! It’s soooo quaint and cute and totally girly! They have EVERYTHING romance! from YA, to adult contemporary, steampunk, erotica, non-fiction…basically everything romance! They also have used books (called Jo’s Attic) and they have classic romances (the old harlequins that are now collectibles) and other newer used stuff! They also have a really small kids section, for those mommies who bring their kids to the store! They also host Lady Jane’s Salon and bookclubs! Those I need to attend!
