WOW, I can’t believe the awesomeness of Fated by Rebecca Zanetti! Thank you so much to Teresa @reads_romance and Romance Reader for recommending this series! I easily get overwhelmed by really long series, but I just had to dive in! I will try to read the books in order!
I’m not really into paranormal and to be honest, it’s a hard genre for me to get into. Well, I got hooked by this series and I just can’t wait to continue reading the series!
Fated really captured my attention from page 1. That opening scene alone was a little bit scary and definitely thrilling! The scene does look like Talen abducted Cara, however, the heroine’s daughter Janie, was able to allay her fears because she is psychic!
I’m usually not a fan of children in books but I didn’t have problems with Janie! Janie does sound a tad bit older than her age but it can be explained away by her psychic powers. She supposedly has unique and strong powers which haven’t been revealed yet in this book. There are scenes were Janie is meeting someone in her dream (and I seriously think this is Janie’s mate) which really piqued my interest!
I love these new spin of vampires. There are two versions in this book and Talen is one of the good ones. The world building is also top notch! Rebecca Zanetti does an amazing job introducing the world and the lore and all the other creatures living in this world.
Talen is an extremely alpha hero and I have to remember that this was pubbed in 2011 just so I don’t cringe. Talen does redeem himself in the end even though he is a tad bit controlling. I also love how he treats Janie and accepts her as his daughter because he knows that Cara is his mate.
Cara is also not a pushover and she does a good job deflecting Talen’s alphaholic tendencies She can also stand on her own and I do love her spunk!
I highly recommend reading Fated and reading the rest of the Dark Protectors series, especially if you want a good urban fantasy/paranormal romance read. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series – there are about 10 books out!
