Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
I am a creature of habit and I normally don’t venture into the unknown. Yeah, I know. I’m boring. But last year was a revelation to me. I actually started reading outside my comfort zone and discovered a few new-to-me authors along the way!
Jennifer L. Armentrout
I first picked up her book, Wait for You on a whim and I was SOLD. This is perhaps the best book I read last year and I can’t stop recommending this book like crazy! I am currently in an NA kick because of this book!
Christina Lauren
I first discovered this writing duo when I found out that they will be signing books at The Ripped Bodice in early December. So, I decided to pick up Beautiful Bastard and was I surprised. AND HOOKED! AND OMG!!!! I practically binged read some of their backlist books! Eeep! Sweet Filthy Boy is perhaps one of the best ones I read from their backlist.
Tessa Bailey
I first read her book Disorderly Conduct and I loved it! I also read books from her backlist and was really surprised how hot it was!
Kristen Callihan
I first read Evernight and then Firelight I was hooked! I actually looked up Kristen Callihan and discovered that she also wrote New Adult! Well, to my surprise, I enjoyed The Hook Up!
Sarina Bowen
I love Elle Kennedy and when I discovered that she wrote a series with Sarina Bowen, I was intrigued. I went ahead and borrowed Rookie Move and Hard Hitter and enjoyed both of them!
Elizabeth May
I have only read one book by Elizabeth May and boy was I AMAZED! The Falconer is one of my favorite reads this year?! I still need to read the next two books in the series, though!

Jay Crownover
Jay Crownover is another amazing find in 2017! I loved Welcome to the Point series and also found out that she has a new adult series! OMG!
Sophie Barnes
Sophie Barnes is another amazing find in the historical romance genre and I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series A Most Unlikely Duke. I need to read some of her backlist books, too!

Have you read any of these authors before?
Who are your new-to-me authors last year?
I’ve been wanting to read The Falconer series for a while, so Elizabeth May is definitely an author I want to try in 2018!

I loooove The Hookup! Sarina Bowen was a new favorite for me too and Christina Lauren always has such fun and sexy books. Happy 2018!
I’m actually rereading The Hookup again because for the life of me, I can’t remember the plot of the book! LOL and I rated it 5 HEARTS! ? ?
I love JLA, and Jay Crownover, and I’m relatively new to Christina Lauren, but love them all! Great picks! You can check out my top 10 in the link below.

Christina Lauren has awesome sexy romances! I actually enjoy her NA titles! ?
I *think* I’ve read something by Sarina Bowen before. I’d have to look that up, though. I could have just seen her name enough with books I told myself to read. I love when authors pair up! Every year I love blowing the minds of my kids who love the Warrior Cats books. They don’t know it’s FIVE authors writing the different series. I bet I would love all of these authors, too!
Yes! I mean, I used to read Sweet Valley, Nancy Drew, and the Hardy Boys and there are multiple authors who write those series! ? I do love reading books where authors pair up!
You have so many GREAT authors you discovered last year. I loved so many of these too. I will admit that Beautiful Bastard wasn’t my favorite book but I did like it. I want to read more of the series. And yeah Jennifer Armentrout is fantastic when it comes to NA. You should try out Linda Kage. She does superb NA as well.
I really did love Jay Crownover too, the writing so splendid and easy to read.
Hope 2018 is a year of great discovery of new authors as well.

Thanks for the rec! I will check out Linda Cage! I read Beautiful Bastard after the whole Hollywood abuse blew up and the plot in Beautiful Bastard kind of is bordering on abuse of power… however, I did enjoy it since we got the heroine’s POV so it felt okay… And JLA OMG! I can’t get enough of her books! SERIOUSLY!
Okay, The Falconer just moved up on my list. I’ve had the first book for awhile at my sister’s recommendation and I just haven’t tackled it. This is the second list I’ve seen the book on in the last week!
