I seriously didn’t know what to expect when I started reading Down to You. Seeing that this was the 5th book in the series, I thought I was going to be lost. I wasn’t and I love this book so much!
I was intrigued by the premise – up and coming lead singer of the band Caged and a superstar female artist who survived a terrible tragedy. I practically read this book in two days (which is fast for me) and I could hardly put it down! I love the relationship development between Logan and Tori. It started out as a hate to friendship to love romance and I couldn’t be happier how it turned out.
Tori survived a horrific accident that killed two of her bandmates – her husband and her best friend. She also didn’t leave the accident unscathed. The book starts about 6 years after the accident and I could tell that Tori hadn’t moved on yet – which is absolutely understandable. The health issues she is currently facing felt real, too. She has basically left the spotlight but now manages a band with her other best friend Taryn.
Logan is the hothead lead singer for Caged who was thrown in jail for fighting. So he could participate in the upcoming tour, he had no choice but to have Tori as his “babysitter.” This starts the unlikely friendship between these two people. I love Tori and Logan together – especially because they started being friends first, hung out together, and started sharing secrets with each other.
It was inevitable that these two finally hooked up, but I love how their relationship developed slowly. Especially because Tori was still trying to let go and move on from the death of her first love – Rhenn.
Down to You is about healing – for both Logan and Tori. Logan, who was trying to forget his horrible childhood and to come to terms with his mother’s death. Tori, also trying to deal with her health issues, her fame, and her love for her husband.
I can’t recommend Down to You enough! I am definitely reading the other books in the series! I also didn’t have any problems following the story even though this was the 5th book in the series.
