Bookish updates in the last 2 weeks
Happy Sunday, Wormies! It has been a fun week! This week was my birthday week and I have a giveaway! Don’t forget to check out the giveaway post! Thank you for all your birthday greetings! It really made my day better!
I also managed to squeeze in a couple of books read, which is amazing because I have been busy at work and usually fall asleep at around 10 PM without reading a single page (the horror)! I’ve also been hopping from book to book because no book can capture my attention. Hopefully, this will change soon!
I finished reading When a Duke Loves a Woman by Lorraine Heath and I LOVED it! It’s my second 5-star read (not including re-reads) of the year and it is all good, and emotional, and it had me ugly cry until the last page! Definitely, a must read! Review to come, soon!

We also went to Tejon Ranch (more photos here!) last Sunday and saw wildflowers! It was a beautiful day, too! After the rain we were having here in California, it was a relief for the sun to shine again. The rain was good for the drought but driving everywhere was crazy!
I haven’t been watching a lot of movies in the last two weeks, but I started watching Harlots and continued bingeing Ancient Aliens. I know, I have a weakness of all things alien – maybe that’s why I love sci-fi so much?
Ready Player One is still not in the cards for me. I am [impatiently] waiting for Pierre to come home so we can watch it before Avengers: Infinity War is showing. I mean, we can still watch both movies, but we tend to watch one movie a week, so…
I really like Jilian, but for some reason, the story is going sloooowly and I am not feeling Breck? I don’t know. I just wish this series stayed in college, you know? The reason why I loved this series so much was that it was a New Adult, now it’s more Contemporary. Which is not a bad thing, but I’m just not feeling it.

So glad you had a lovely birthday well, and who doesn’t love a good ugly cry book. The Year We Fell Down is a favorite of mine. I loved Corey so much! Hope you enjoy it.

I really need to read The Year We Fell Down. It’s so unique and angsty and I feel like it is very emotional… that’s like crack to me!
I added The Cruel Prince to the TBR this week. I’ve been seeing so much about it and have wanted to read for a while. When I saw it on sale at only £1.49 (amazon uk) I snapped it up. Time to see what the fuss (good and bad!) is all about!
Oh, I heard a lot of good things about The Cruel Prince! I need to read that soon. I think I am queued for the audiobook from the library so there’s really no rush. I hope you enjoy the book!
Oh my goodness. You got so many amazing books this week! I hope you start to get the reading bug soon. I’ve had those times where I just didn’t pick up a book for a while. When a Duke Loves a Woman sounds like a really awesome read. I haven’t read this author before but you have me intrigued with this one.

If you are a fan of historical romance, Lorraine Heath is an awesome author to try. I recommend starting with her Scoundrels of St. James series because it is very much inspired by Oliver Twist!
I am reading…. but still jumping from book to book for some of them.. LOL
I love the HR’s here, and love the Lisa Kleypas IG photo!! I just won a copy of A Match Made in Bed by Cathy Maxwell, who is new to me. And Happy Belated Birthday!!
Thank you, Joann! Cathy Maxwell is a hit and miss author for me but I want to read If I Ever Should Love Her first before reading A Match Made in Bed… 🙂 Hope you enjoy the book!
I struggled with the last 2 books in the JLA series too. I just didn’t think the had the same magic as the first couple books you know?!? Oh well. Glad you had a 5 star read this week! Yay for that!
Enjoy your new books!

Gahhh I know what you mean, Samantha! It was a little disappointing… I will try her other books, but it’s not actually capturing my attention right now.. LOL
I love when you get to see the wildflowers. It must have been a beautiful sight. I love Lorraine Heath – I hope you enjoy all the new books!
Mary my #SundayRoundup #13!
I am enjoying my new books! Thanks, Mary! Tejon Ranch was really pretty! And Easter Sunday was a lovely day!
Love the wildflower pic! Very nice. And I haven’t seen Ready Player One either, although I did see Tomb Raider and liked it. And I can’t believe how close Avengers is getting!!
I love anything about ancient aliens lol.
Happy birthday!!!

I haven’t seen Tomb Raider yet but I will probably just rent it. I think that will be the same with A Wrinkle in Time… LOL
Happy birthday! I love your bookstagram photos and the wildflowers photo. I wish I was better at Instagram. There are too many talented people on that site. I hope you have a great week! Enjoy your new books.
