Bookish updates in the last 2 weeks
It’s been two weeks into the year and I am in a reading slump! I mean, sure I finished reading a few books and I am 1 book ahead of schedule according to Goodreads, I cannot find a great book. I feel like I have been hopping from one book to another as evidenced by the below list of books that I am currently reading. So, I can’t seem to focus! Urghh!!
I am slowly getting back to the grind, though so YAY! I hope to shed this ominous book slump that I am having.
One of the things I do when I am in a slump is to read different genres, which is pretty obvious if you look at my different currently reading books. It also helps to have these books in different formats because it helps break the monotony. Also, a good narrator is AWESOME and usually hooks me into binge-reading an author or a series.
Also, please scroll down to the bottom of this post and help me decide what my next read will be!
So, I am rereading The HookUp by Kristen Callihan because for the life of me, I can’t remember the story at all! I mean, I know the plot but I can’t seem to remember the specifics! Does this happen to you?
I am switching between Faking It and Death Below Stairs because I think my New Adult contemporary bringefest is now at an end. Death Below Stairs is pretty good, so far!

Thank you for adding me to your list!
You’re welcome! ?
I only read one of the books up for vote, but I really liked The Ones Who Got Away. I love the premise and Loren put together an interesting group of ladies for me to care about. I am eager to get the next story.

Oh! That’s what I do! Reread all faves which was why I reread a lot last year ?
When I’m in a slump, I pick up a middle grades book. That seems to always do the trick for me. I hope you can find just the right book to kick off the rest of January. Happy reading!
Thanks, Charlie! I mostly reread my faves and I did that today so I am on my way to read the next book in the series! I haven’t read a middle-grade book in a while. I think the last one was A Wrinkle in Time, which I reread last year. ☺️
I voted for The Ones who got away because I have heard amazing things! You got some GREAT books this week! I’m jealous!

Thanks, Samantha! A have heard a lot of good things about The Ones Who Got Away! If this wins the poll, I will definitely read it this month!
Sorry to hear about your reading slump. Sometimes I switch genres and read something different, that usually helps when I have a slump. I would definitely recommend The Hookup, I enjoyed it, although I have been seeing Unearthed everywhere.
I know! I’m reading historical romance for now just so I can break the slump. I am excited to read The Hookup and of course, Unearthed! Thanks for stopping by!
