Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
Happy Sunday, Wormies! It’s been 4 weeks since I last posted a Currently Reading post! Although I have been reading a lot in the last couple of months, that was also the time where I didn’t even want to go online or even blog. Sad, I know. This year has been hard for me.
On a good note, I already reached my goal of 100 BOOKS read this year! Whooop! This means I can review more, yeah?
I am currently listening to The Duke and I narrated by Rosalyn Landor and I have to say that I am really surprised that I am enjoying it! I admit to not having read any of the Bridgerton books and I can’t believe I am missing A LOT! Definitely bingeing this series before the year is over!
I haven’t read any of Lisa Kleypas’ contemporary romances but I picked up Blue-Eyed Devil early this morning and read it until 9 AM. Yeahp, I DID NOT SLEEP UNTIL 9 AM! But it was all good. More on this later. So now, I am picking up Smooth Talking Stranger and hopefully, Sugar Daddy will be available from the library soon!
Eloisa James’ Wilde in Love has been put on the back burner for a bit.
Starfall was a dud for me and I had to DNF it after a few months of not being able to get back to reading it. Gahhhhh, I absolutely hate the main characters!
Indecent Exposure is a victim of the sequel slump and I enjoyed the first book Disorderly Conduct so much.

Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas cover reveal
The romance community was in uproar last month after the NYT Book Review featured the fall Romance Round-up. AND RIGHTLY SO! I will be sharing posts addressing this ridiculous article. Not only that, the response a week later titled: Who Gets to Write about Romance? was ALSO condescending and totally missed the mark IMHO.

- Smart Bitches, Trashy Books shares their thoughts on how the NYT Book Review looks at Romance
- Author Lauren Layne shares her overdue defense on the romance genre
- The Medium listed all the dumb things you can say about romance novels
- Entertainment Weekly has responded by having a recurrent monthly romance review feature called Romancing the Tome.
- The Ripped Bodice shares the 2016 State of Racial Diversity in Romance Publishing Report
How did your week go? Have you read any good books, lately?
Also, what are your thoughts on the NYT Book Review article?
Also, did you notice the teeny tiny changes I made on my blog? Bonus points on who can tell me what they are!

I hate when people dismiss romance. I LOVE it! I was so sad when I booked my trip to see my daughter, because I found out there was a romance event in NYC this weekend. Maybe next year. I see that you DNFed Starfall. I loved the first book, but had heard the second was not as good, so I passed. Sounds like I made the right decision. I just finished Warcross the other day, and it lives up to the hype. I loved it! Chasing Christmas Eve was another cute Shalvis book. I read Holiday Wishes this week (Sean’s story), and it was awesome too. I adore Shalvis and this series.

Yeah! Starfall was horrible! It totally lacked the banter and fun from the previous book! gaaaaahhh!
Yeah I was pretty upset when I read that article too!! I just wish that they could have chosen someone that doesn’t live in the dark ages right? That would have been nice.
It looks like you have read some great books and YES for Blue Eyed Devil so dang good. My favorite way is through audio since the narrator does a fantastic job here!! And boy Hardy is so swoony especially once he learns everything.

I didn’t listen to the audiobook here. Hahahaha 🙂 the tone of the book is a little off, though. This is a first person POV and Haven’s voice sounds too… weird? IDK but it was weird to me.
