Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
Happy Sunday, bookworms! After that slump-ish month, I am actually starting to get out of it! The only problem is that I have tons of ideas running through my head right now, it’s crazy!
On another note, I am starting to binge read historical romance again! For some reason, I am not getting into the young adult books that I picked up over the last couple of weeks. HELP! It might be time to cleanse my book genre palette. Or it might be time to binge watch GOT, yeah? I’m caught up now, by the way! YES!
I’ve been reading a few more in the last couple of weeks. Well, correction, I have been STARTING a few books BUT they have been pretty meh for me. Well, except for Marrying Winterbourne!
THE BAD BOY BILLIONAIRE: WHAT A GIRL WANTS by Maya Rodale (Adult Contemporary Romance) – Ahhhh I am dragging on this one! I may possibly finish this novella this week but I’m not feeling the same love I had with the first novella.
HEARTLESS by Marissa Meyer (Young Adult Classic Retelling) – I thought I would be able to finish this during the long weekend but that is not the case! Unfortunately, the tone of Heartless is too different for me to get into. And it is very, very different from her Lunar Chronicles series. Unfortunately, it’s a merry, merry unbirthday for me.
BECAUSE OF MISS BRIDGERTON by Julia Quinn (Adult Historical Romance) – I started this one too and it is very interesting! I love the banter…but I had to put this on hold for now because of the next book on the list!
MARRYING WINTERBOURNE by Lisa Kleypas (Adult Historical Romance) – I have been waiting for this book since I finished reading Cold-Hearted Rake.
DANGEROUS BOOKS FOR GIRLS by Maya Rodale (Non-fiction) – This is my first non-fiction (maybe) book and it is very interesting. I purchased this book when this came out but I still haven’t read it. There are great points regarding the stigma of romance.
BRIGHT SMOKE, COLD FIRE by Rosamund Hodge (Young Adult Classic Retelling) – I thought I would be binge reading this one. Anyway, I read the first chapter and it’s pretty okay so far. I just need to finish reading Marrying Winterbourne.
CHASING LADY AMELIA by Maya Rodale (Adult Historical Romance) – Ahhh as I said last week, I have issues with this one. Chasing Lady Amelia turned into a DNF for me and I will tell you why when I write my review.
THE EARL TAKES IT ALL by Lorraine Heath (Adult Historical Romance) – Now this book I had A LOT OF ISSUES WITH. This also was a DNF for me. Sigh* And I really, really wanted to love this book.
A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J. Maas (Young Adult Fairy Tale Retelling) – I don’t know what to say. I’m just not getting into ACoMaF. I feel totally disconnected with the characters and I’m at the point where I just don’t care about this series anymore.
Do you ever feel like you are just not feeling everything you read?
Are you in a book slump? Any thoughts on how to get out of it?
Your list is sooooo fantastic!! I just finished Marrying Winterborne and loved it! And Julia Quinn is also nice (:
I’ve got Heartless and Bright Smoke, Cold Fire on my TBR, they both sound awesome, can’t wait to start them.
Oh that’s very unfortunate about Chasing Lady Amelia! I started it, but definitely having issues connecting with Amelia ):

YES! Amelia was super annoying! I watched Roman Holiday just to feel connected to her but it wasn’t working! 🙁 I also just finished Marrying Mr. Winterbourne and I AM IN LOVE!!! OH GOD!!! RHYS!!!! 🙂
