Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
Hello, dear readers! Please forgive my absence because I am still in a slump! I am trying my best to get out of it, though and I think it is working a little bit! YAY for positivity!
On a really good note, I did a lot of reading (well a bit) so I have been pretty productive!
I also saw Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle! It was really unique! Loved it even though it is different from the book! I really think they captured the charm of the book!
Now, let’s take a look at what I have accomplished so far!
A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J. Maas (Young Adult Fantasy) – So…. I’m slowly plodding into this book because I honestly don’t know what to feel about it! I feel that
Feyre’s sacrifice in ACoTar was USELESS!! UGH!
I HATE Tamlin and I don’t know how he can redeem himself in this book. I also didn’t like him in ACoTaR!
CHASING LADY AMELIA by Maya Rodale (Adult Historical Romance) – My friend Crystal @ Crystal Blogs Books told me that this is a retelling of Roman Holiday. Obvs I am too lazy to do my research so I’m sooo grateful for friends who do this for me… ha! UNFORTUNATELY, I am not connecting with Lady Amelia AT ALL! I may have to watch Roman Holiday since it is available on Netflix. We shall see how this one goes!
THE BAD BOY BILLIONAIRE: WHAT A GIRL WANTS (Adult Contemporary Romance) – Sooo I’m a little stuck on this but will def finish this one this week!
ANYONE BUT IVY POCKET & SOMEBODY STOP IVY POCKET by Caleb Krisp (Middle-Grade Fantasy) – I really enjoyed this snarky MG book! Read my review for more! *wink
HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE by Diana Wynne Jones (Middle-Grade Fantasy) – SOOOO CALCIFER is my absolutely favorite character then Sophie! OH Lordy why haven’t I read this book BEFORE?! I was enchanted and entertained and just thoroughly delighted that I read this book. Thank you so, so much Annika @ Hiding Books for recommending this to me!
DEVIL IN WINTER by Lisa Kleypas (Adult Historical Romance) – This is a re-read that I decided to pick up last weekend after I saw Lisa Kleypas’ announcement! OMG! Her third book is called Devil in Spring and you know WHAT this means, right?! I really didn’t like this book when I first read it BUT I enjoyed it this time around that I added another star to my rating! I normally don’t do this kind of thing but for LK, I will make an exception! I still don’t like St. Vincent, but the book IS really good!
BEHIND THE MARQUESS’ MASK by Kristen McLean (Adult Historical Romance) – Had to put this one on hold. It had a very interesting prologue BUT I have quite a lot of books to read right now…so this will have to wait!
Let’s talk about book to movie adaptations. Do you hate it when the movie adaptations deviate from the plot of the book?
I love Audrey Hepburn and Roman Holiday, but samey, not really feeling Amelia. I’ve just started a bit though so maybe it’ll get better.
OH MY GOSH SOOO EXCITED FOR DEVIL IN SPRING!! haha. I love when authors bring in old characters and their kids and stuff (:
Happy readings, Zeee~

Oh Cyn!! Lorraine Heath does this all the time and I am sooooo soooo sooo happy! 🙂
I’m a little bummed that Roman Holiday didn’t have an HEA but it was sooo fun watching it! Audrey Hepburn is super charming! I love her!
Let me know what you think of Chasing Lady Amelia!
Omg, I wanna read Howl’s Moving Castle!! It’s like a classic in children literature, no? I keep forgetting about it, but I’m gonna go to the library soon, so crossed fingers that I’ll make time for it. Aww, I hope you end up loving A Court of Mist and Fury!

Yes it is! Very interesting, too! Especially if you see the movie (it’s a little different, by the way). I don’t know why I haven’t read this before!
ACoMaF is okay so far. But … 🙁
There’s a song in the Legally Blonde musical called Positive, and you’ve just made me think of it and now it’s going to be stuck in my head basically for all of eternity.
YAY Ghibli’s Howl!!!! Wheee!
a retelling of Roman Holiday?! WATCH ROMAN HOLIDAY IT’S SO GOOD. Now I want to read that book!
