Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
Hello, all! I am currently recuperating from all my April bookish activities and I must say I am enjoying the downtime. Pierre is also home for another 2 weeks, so I am spending as much time with him as I can!
On that note, we were able to go see two movies this weekend: The Avengers Civil War and The Jungle Book. I thoroughly enjoyed Civil War so much that it totally erased the horror that was Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice (the only thing I can say about that movie is WONDER WOMAN!). The Jungle Book was okay, only that it WAS really like the Disney animated version, so…
The last week was a little crazy for me because I started reading a few books. You will see those in the list below. Am I crazy or what? How do I even keep track of the books I’m reading?!
HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE by Diana Wynne Jones (Middle-Grade Fantasy) – Annika @ Hiding Books wrote an awesome review for this book and I was intrigued. I have heard A LOT of good things about this book (and about the anime by Hayao Miyazaki) so I decided to borrow it from the library. OMG! I am thoroughly enchanted by this book! I am about halfway through and I swear it’s sooo good! I personally love Calcifer (the fire demon) so much! More about my gushing about this later!
WALLFLOWER GONE WILD by Maya Rodale (Adult Historical Romance) – For some reason (that I can’t explain), I picked up The Bad Boy Billionaire’s Wicked Engagement and LOVED IT! Anyway, with that being said, I read the historical romance book (THAT I NOW REMEMBER READING BEFORE! CURSE YOU, POOR MEMORY!), which is the first book in the series (series alternates between historical and contemporary). So now, I am picking up the second book!
THE BAD BOY BILLIONAIRE’S GIRL GONE WILD by Maya Rodale (Adult Contemporary Romance) – As I said in my explanation before, I am reading this book, which I was supposed to read AFTER finishing Wallflower Gone Wild, but what the heck, the contemporary is too much fun to NOT to read!
BEHIND THE MARQUESS’ MASK by Kristen McLean (Adult Historical Romance) – I also started this for a tour but unfortunately, I didn’t get the ARC on time for me to review it for the tour. So, I am starting to read it now. It’s interesting, so far and this is the first book that I read from Kristen McLean.
TEMPTATIONS OF A WALLFLOWER by Eva Leigh (Adult Historical Romance) – I’m not really sure how to feel about this book at all. I gave it 3 hearts but I’m still quite unsure, to be honest. It wasn’t even because the hero is a vicar, but he did something that I can’t quite find a reason to forgive him. Yes, HE DID NOT redeem himself in my eyes.
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas (Young Adult Fantasy) – OMG this book! I finished reading this last week AND IT JUST BLEW ME AWAY! Of course, it’s because of Rhysand and NOT the beast, Tamlin that I am so intrigued by! I know ACOMAF already came out, but I am still going to finish reading Howl’s before I start on ACOMAF.
THE WICKED WALLFLOWER by Maya Rodale (Adult Historical Romance) – Similar to what I stated earlier about this series – I AM HOOKED!
THE BAD BOY BILLIONAIRE’S WICKED ENGAGEMENT by Maya Rodale (Adult Contemporary Romance) – I think this style of writing is JUST BRILLIANT! Alternate a historical and contemporary story where the heroine of the contemporary story IS THE WRITER OF SAID HISTORICALS?! And she writes under the pen name Maya Rodale? Hmmm… I feel there is a real story behind this series!
PASSIONS OF A WICKED EARL by Lorraine Heath (Adult Historical Romance) – I reread this story because I love Lorraine Heath so much! This also made me ugly cry like crazy, too!
THE CROWN’S GAME by Evelyn Skye (Young Adult Fantasy) – This book is really interesting BUT for now, I had to put this on hold because I am reading more historical romance books. I will restart this again soon!
LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR by Stephanie Perkins (Young Adult Contemporary) – The reason why I’m putting this on hold is because I am waiting for the audio to be available at the library. Sadly, I run out of time and had to return it last week, so I will be finishing this book once it’s available.
So, have any of you read ACOMAF already? I heard RHYSAND IS AMAZING HERE! Please tell me it is so, and no spoilers please!
Yay, so glad youre enjoying Howl’s Moving Castle! It’s such an enchanting read. 😀 I have yet to see the movie, I’ve heard it’s good, but different to the book.

I heard that as well! I already finished Howl so I can now watch the movie! 🙂
Maya Rodale’s historical romance books are the bomb. She writes so passionately and her scenes are quite sensual without being too much. <3 And Lola and the Boy Next Door gave me so many happy feelings! I'm so excited for you to know the story!
I LOVE Maya Rodale! Eeeek!!!
Lola and the Boy Next Door…. I’m not sure what to think yet…only that I see certain parallels to my own love story… *wink
I’M SO DYING TO WATCH CIVIL WAR GIRL! My boyfriend already watched it and he told me his thoughts on it! Oh! and Jungle Book, OMG, that’s another one I can’t wait to watch but you would probably never believe how long it’s been since I’ve actually been to an ACTUAL movie theatre? Ha. Years (don’t judge) 😉 I’m making a vow with myself to start reading more…I’ve totally been slacking as of late…

I feel you! We used to go to the movies every Friday for date night but we have since stopped and only go see the good ones! haha 🙂
I don’t think I could keep track of that many books at a time, I generally only read one fiction book at a time and occasionally I will read two but no more than that! I just finished ACOMAF and it was great, there was a point in the middle where I thought it dropped from great to good but the ending was epic so I finished it excited for book 3 *commence impatient wait for another SJ Maas book* I can’t wait for Crown’s Game, I have heard it’s got like 10 POV’s though and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

I am starting ACOMAF and I just…. ahhh I honestly don’t like Tamlin, and the first chapter just made me hate him more!
I don’t know how I can keep track of the books, but I surprisingly can keep track of them…most of the time… XD
