Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
I apologize for not posting much in the last couple of weeks. Apparently, this year IS EVIL! I mean, I got downed by a cold. AGAIN. It feels like I was just sick! Anyway, I had quite an eventful couple of weeks. I was able to go to the RT Convention! Pierre had a week off from work and he spent it with me! YES. I made him carry the books I brought for the Book Fair and of course, follow me around for a couple of hours. I know he had fun. Ehem. I think someone asked him how I was able to blackmail him into coming with me. *wink* I love him so much for this!
I also went to a Julia Quinn book signing with fellow Avon Addict Crystal @ Crystal Blogs Books. In case you’re wondering, Avon Addicts is the Harper Collins romance street team, and yes I am a member! We had to drive up to Palmdale of all places (about 55 miles) just for the signing, but that isn’t the craziest thing I did since I drove up to Solvang (about 110 miles) to meet Tessa Dare and Eva Leigh! The things I do for romance!
Anyway, I think I’m getting sidetracked here. On to my books.
I am still “reading” The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye and The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas, so I won’t list that here. *wink
A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas (Young Adult Fantasy) – I’ve had this book for a while and I know I’m just reading this. BUT HOW AM I JUST READING THIS?! I’m speeding up so I can finish this before A Court of Mist and Fury comes out next month! Let me just warn you that ACOTAR explores themes that are more NA than YA. Not that I’m complaining.
LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR by Stephanie Perkins (Young Adult Contemporary) – Okay, okay, I KNOW I said I am not going to read another YA contemporary but I had requested this from the library so I decided to give it a go. I’m surprised to actually like it. Well, sort of. I think it’s because the story slightly parallels my own romance (Pierre is older than me, and he is my neighbor! Not literally next door, but really close. So he is like a mash-up of Cricket and Max!). I may be biased here. Can’t wait to finish this!
TEMPTATIONS OF A WALLFLOWER by Eva Leigh (Historical Romance) – I recently finished Scandal Takes the Stage and so I decided to pick this up. It is pretty interesting. I mean, the heroine is a scandalous erotic writer and the hero is a vicar! I wasn’t really sure about the vicar thing but from what I’ve read so far, it is pretty good. And not as icky as I thought it would be!
FALLING INTO BED WITH THE DUKE by Lorraine Heath (Historical Romance) – I’m a little on the fence on this one. I will be reviewing this soon. I did enjoy it, but not as much as I wanted to!
I’m so happy that I haven’t filed anything in my on-hold shelf! Yay me! But as you can see, it has been a totally SLOW couple of weeks for me. I know. I’m bad. EVIL even.
How was your last couple of weeks? Did you do anything good recently? Did you go to RT?! If so, we might have bumped into each other! Did you go to any book signings?
Zeee, I’m getting over being sick again as well. I have a couple of business trips next month so I’m hoping I can stay well through both of those. Hope you have an excellent week!

Hope you get well in time for your next trip, Terri! I am also getting better now and I have a work trip to San Diego tomorrow! My boss is driving, though so I should be good!
I did not go to RT but it sounds like fun 🙂 This week I am on vacation and I am SO excited for it I cannot wait to get some reading done. I am just having a stay-cation.
Staycation is the BESTEST! I got sick after RT and was able to work from home so I didn’t even get to rest… 🙁 but YAY for STAYCATION!
I’m so excited that you got to go to RT!!! I went last year and LOVED it!
