Sharing my thoughts on this weeks’ reads
Happy Sunday, Bookworms! I have been super busy and just blowing through my TBR pile (or not my TBR pile) and I didn’t feel like blogging. Yup, it was another mini-rut, that’s that it was!
Anyway, the good news is that I have been reading – more contemporaries, too!
After the contemporary romance binge that I just had, I wanted to go ahead and start on this cross series book by Tessa Dare! Do you remember the fiance in Say Yes to the Marquess in the Castles Ever After series? Well, he is finally getting his HEA! I am about four chapters in and I am absolutely in love with Piers! *cough he sort of has the same name as my hubby so… I guess I am biased!
HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, & Jack Thorne (Young Adult Play)
I FINALLY got my copy last week and I started reading it. I have to say that I am NOT used to reading scripts. PLUS, it feels so fanfiction-y. There’s nothing wrong with that but…. I just wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m slowly plodding through this book, though. We’ll see how this goes.
HANNAH AND THE HIGHLANDER by Sabrina York (Adult Historical Romance)
I am also reading this book right now and I must say that I am feeling the romantic sparks between Hannah and Alexander! Eeeep! So now, I’m not sure which one I should fully read first: Do You Want to Start a Scandal or this book? Choices, choices!
THIS EARL IS ON FIRE by Vivienne Lorret (Adult Historical Romance)
I’m not sure where I am going here but I keep on starting this book and I just can’t get into it. sigh* This always happens with me and Vivienne Lorret’s books.
WHILE THE DUKE WAS SLEEPING by Sophie Jordan (Adult Historical Romance)
I just finished this book and WOW! The slow burn and chemistry between Poppy and Struan were amazing! Unfortunately, the end felt too rushed for me and I just feel so bummed about the whole story!
I’m not sure where I saw a blurb about this book, but I was intrigued. If you have been following my blog, you would know that I am not a fan of contemporary romance. Anyway, I borrowed the audiobook from the library and I was hooked! I only have one word for it – WOLF!
SEARCHING FOR SOMEDAY by Jennifer Probst (Adult Contemporary Romance)
So, I was obviously hooked by the whole Searching for series so I HAD to read ALL OF IT! This is Kate’s story and it’s just super charming! I mean, a matchmaker and a divorce lawyer? Plus, a sprinkling of magic?! Oh! And there’s the paraplegic dog, Robert! The epilogue killed me, though!
SEARCHING FOR PERFECT by Jennifer Probst (Adult Contemporary Romance)
This is Kennedy’s story and she is making over a rocket scientist! It is a charming romance but it’s not as great as Searching for Beautiful.
SEARCHING FOR ALWAYS by Jennifer Probst (Adult Contemporary Romance)
Now this is the Arilyn’s story and Stone Petty, the grumpy cop from Searching for Beautiful and this book was just darling! I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is now a story about a yoga/anger management coach and a grumpy angry cop. And yes, there is a small chihuahua involved here!
STARFLIGHT by Melissa Landers (Young Adult Science Fiction)
I run out of time from the library so I had to stop reading this. This was also around the time that I was getting bored of YA. Well, for now. I still stand by my thoughts on the main characters in this book.
I just can’t get into this book. I’m sorry. At the time, I was too much into contemporary romance to ever finish reading this. I will be picking this up again soon, though.
Do you ever get sick of your favorite genre? What do you do to cleanse?
Any tips? I want to know!
I’ll have to look into some of these as I totally love romance! I do get sick of my favorite genre/age range sometimes. Lately I’ve been plowing through a lot of YA, but I’ve been taking some breaks by switching over to MG. however I went through most of this year not really wanting to pick up a romance (outside of my IRL romance book club that meets once a month). Lately though the itch to pick up more romance has begun again! So after this month I think I’m going to pick up some more romance books 🙂

Yeah! I have been reading more contemporaries but now I am craving historical romance. I’m sort of getting sick of YA at the moment so maybe stepping away from it for now will help!
Lots of great books here 🙂 I always think – ‘wow reading 4 at a time’, but then I really think about my current reads and I think that have about 4 going too 😛

yup! I read at different times, too. So for driving, I have n an audiobook but that’s not necessarily the same book I will be reading before bed.. 🙂
Wow, you went on a Jennifer Probst binge! It’s still so weird seeing you read contemporary romance. Probably the same when I read historical romance. 🙂 If I need a cleanse, I read a lot of novellas. Something quick and fun to clean the palate and clear my mind before jumping back into a full length book (or a specific genre).
LOL I KNOW RIGHT???!!!
I have a thing about novellas, tho…. it’s a format that I usually hate reading..
