Bookish updates in the last 2 weeks
I hope you’re having an awesome Sunday, Wormies! I’m currently chilling at home and watching a bunch of shows with Pierre.
So, it was his birthday last week and I might have forgotten to get him cake! Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t forget that it was his birthday but I forgot to get him cake! 😳 I know, I suck but that’s the truth! I usually get cake at a couple of bakeries that we like close to work, but I wasn’t at work the last two days last week. See, last Thursday, I had to do a work presentation and Friday was a work from home day for me. But I know that doesn’t excuse my forgetfulness.
I finally got his cake – YAY! This cake is called Bird Milk Cake that I got from a Russian/Armenian bakery in Glendale.
On the reading front, Malia from @ Romance Shmomance helped me through our buddy read of L.J. Shen’s Sinners of Saint series and I am proud to announce that I am now listening to book 2 Ruckus! I had initially DNF’d Vicious because he was such a douche and he kept calling Millie “Help” and I was not having it! I am glad that I gave it a second chance because it really is a well-written and emotional book. Also, hotholes are real, people! I’m definitely going to continue the series and read the spin-off All Saints High. Wish me luck!
I’m also buddy reading with a group of girls over on Instagram and we are reading Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard! My friend Crystal has been encouraging me to read her and I wasn’t really sure if she was a romance writer?! I know, there have been a lot of authors that I thought didn’t write romance, but do! So this will be my first Linda Howard romantic suspense!

One year I made my husband a birthday cake. He never ate a single piece. He’s never gotten another birthday cake from me. Hahaha! I finished Faker and I really enjoyed it!
