Finally! The first book in the Off-Campus series spin-off is here! The Chase features the gamer/jock Hockey player Fitzy and Dean’s baby sister Summer!
If I remember correctly, we meet Colin Fitzgerald in The Mistake and I have been intrigued by him because he is a gamer, an artist, and a hockey player! That makes for a unique character!
Summer shines in this book. She is Dean’s baby sister and she has ADHD and has problems focussing and has problems with writing and putting her thoughts on paper, which also makes for a very interesting character with an interesting backstory!
While I enjoyed The Chase overall but I seriously wanted to hit Fitzy upside the head because he was totally hot/cold throughout the book! I know he has a reason to because of his experience with his divorced parents, but he was totally giving mixed signals to Summer, who also had problems and giving mixed signals to one of their roommates!
Let’s talk about the slow burn. Yeah, Fitzy and Summer don’t really hook-up until 3/4 of the book, the teasing, chemistry, and banter were there and made me turn the pages!
The Chase also features one of my favorite tropes: big brothers friend trope! In fact, there is one scene here that was really horrifying! And I also love that Fitz was also struggling between loyalty to his friend and his growing feelings with Summer.
While The Chase didn’t blow me away, I enjoyed reading about my favorite Off-Campus couples! In fact, I just finished rereading Hannah and Garrett’s book, The Deal.
There is one character that shines in The Deal and she is Brenna! I can’t wait for her own book! There was a teaser for The Risk in the ARC and I can’t wait to see who she is paired up with! I have THOUGHTS! And I HOPE HE WILL BE THE GUY!

Do you like heroes who are hot/cold throughout the book?
Fitzy intrigued me in The Goal. I am interested in seeing Summer crack him open, and I really want to know what happened in that “one scene”.

Yes! I was intrigued by him, too! He was one scene with Tucker, too 🙂
