The Charm of You was a charming second chance romance (pun intended). And yes, I was pretty charmed by the whole romance!
For some reason, the overweight girl gets her revenge when she loses all the weight. While I’m totally against this trope (I am SUPER triggered, people), in The Charm of You, it is done really well. This is because there are a few flashback scenes showing the fateful night Nolan broke Presley’s heart.
I flew through The Charm of You really fast. I felt that the book was super short and I also think that there should have been more character development. In fact, when I finished the book, I honestly thought that there were pages missing! I wish that there were a few more chapters, actually.
The Charm of You also has an insta-love quality to it, especially on Nolan’s part. While Presley had a crush on Nolan when she was in college, this story takes places 10 years after and I should think that there is no love involved, right? But it is obvious that the chemistry is there.
I enjoyed The Charm of You. It is a good start in the Ladies Who Write series. If you aren’t familiar with this series, seven amazing contemporary authors are writing books in this series. In The Charm of You, the main character Presley is one of the owners of LWW, a publishing company which is the main focus in the LWW world.

Do you like reading romances with vengeance as a plot?
Ooh, a second chance romance with a heroine who wants to get some revenge on an old crush?? Sounds great! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one as I’ve been eyeing this one but wasn’t sure if I wanted to jump in or not.
Also, can I just tell you how gorgeous your blog is? Your hard work really pays off because I love the smooth lines, the neatness of the look and the color theme. Good stuff here, Zee!!
Yes! It’s a little bit shorter than what I’m used to with Jennifer Probst, but I enjoyed it!
Also, thank you for your kind words about my blog! 🙂 This style has been the same since 2013 LOL
That’s great that you loved this. The blurb doesn’t really appeal to me (I’m not super into revenge plots) but I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I may give it a try. I may like revenge plots more when it’s the woman wanting revenge and not the man.
Yeah, me too! But I was really excited about the LWW book and I want to explore that series with the other romance authors. If you do give it a try, let me know what you think!
