Last month on I Heart Romance & YA
Happy NEW YEAR WORMIES! WOW! December was a CRAZY month for me because I binge read New Adult romances! Man, oh man did it remind me of my own HEA. At one point, I even messaged Pierre letting him know that one book reminded me of our romance. ??☺️
At this point, I’ve been hunting all those angsty NA romances like crazy and I’m not sure how I’m going to get out of this hole I’ve fallen into. It is an angsty and emotional hole but IT’S SO GOOD, I don’t want to get out of this hole.
Also, I can’t recommend Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout enough BECAUSE MY GOD THIS BOOK!
Oh, and if you want to see my 2017 Bookish Stats, it was posted yesterday! ☺️
I actually met THREE of my four challenges! Isn’t that amazing? I normally only meet the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I didn’t achieve my Flights of Fantasy challenge, but it’s not a big deal. I will be posting my 2017 Challenge Stats tomorrow, so stay tuned for a detailed breakdown of my reading habits!

Pierre and I went to see The Last Jedi on December 23 and we enjoyed it. I still don’t know how I feel about the whole plot and where the story is going BUT I think
Rey and Kylo should be A THING!
I rewatched Wonder Woman with Pierre because he hadn’t seen it yet.
We also saw Coco and it was a sobfest! I didn’t ugly cry, though but I cried at multiple parts! Miguel is so adorable! And of course, Dante is too cute!
I also want to say that as much as I was excited to watch Valerian, I fell asleep halfway through it. LOL
So, Pierre binge-watched The Voice S13 for 2 days and I have to say, he got me hooked!
How did your holidays go? Are you super excited for 2018?

AWW that is so sweet about you and your man, that one of the books you read reminded you of your courtship. I do love New Adult though, there is something about that sub genre in romance that is really appealing.
I liked Star Wars too, but I am not liking the plot that much, it just doesn’t have the “star wars” feel to it.

It’s actually a few books here and there that reminds me of our uhh tumultuous HEA… LOL but yeah, New Adult is amazing good! I wish there were more books in that genre!
Yeah…. Star Wars was different. uhmm especially now that Han Solo is gone… ?
I let out an audible “awww” when I read that part about NA romances and Pierre. So sweet. Congratulations on your challenges. I hardly read any fantasy, so that challenge would be really hard for me, but I crushed my Goodreads challenge.

awwww… thanks Sam! Congrats on your GR challenge! I wish I could read more fantasy books, though. I still like to read more YA Fantasy ?
I didn’t do well with meeting my challenges this year. I have to concede my work life right now, but I am proud of the progress I made. I was really close with most of them. I cried when I saw COCO too!! More than once! I couldn’t seem to stop! The Man made so much fun of me all the way home from the theater, which only made me want to cry again. UGH! Such a good movie. I loved Miguel and the heritage telling and THE COLORS!! I definitely want to see it again in a theater.
OH DEFINITELY! Pierre actually cried but he kept asking me if I was crying in the middle of the movie WHILE I was crying it was a little annoying! I can’t believe Disney went that route and included a lot of real stuff in there – it was soooo good! ? ?
I had to balance work and reading, too and it’s easier when you don’t have kids, so I totally understand when life knocks on our door. I listen to audiobooks when I am driving to work, though and that has helped a lot. I usually drive about 1-1.5 hours one way so that really helps.
Great job on your challenges! I usually fail all mine, too. I hope you’re having a good 2018!

Thanks, Aj! I think keeping my challenges few and easy to accomplish help! Hope your 2018 is awesome!
