I currently have 765 books on my TBR list and OMG! How will I ever get to ALL OF THEM?! Anyway, I picked a few books on my TBR FOREVER, which I probably WILL NEVER read. At. All. Yeah.
BOOKS ON MY TBR FOREVER
I love the movie, I have the book
added May 2010 | published 1973
I absolutely LOVE the movie! And the movie itself IS about this fictional book, right? But yeah, I’m not even sure if I want to read the book. In fact, I have a copy of this book. I just feel like the book version will disappoint me and taint my love for the movie.

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movie musicals! And I have probably read the illustrated kids version of this books buuutt NOT the actual series of books. Plus, I forgot what the book was even about. I mean, I can sing and quote the movie, but the book? Nahhh.
added October 2010 | published 1951
Here is another movie from my childhood that I rewatched multiple times! Ahhhh the nostalgia! However, I haven’t read the book and I’m not even sure I want to? I mean, the main plot of the book is taking a pig to slaughter, right? I don’t know if my heart can take THAT!

I saw the animated anime version of The Last Unicorn and I fell in love with it. I recently rewatched the movie and I admit that it was a bit dated. However, the charm is still there! I will probably read this to my kids when I have them, though.

Another one of my fave musicals starring one of my fave singing actresses, Julie Andrews! Also, I saw Saving Mr. Banks and it made me love (AND appreciate) Mary Poppins even more! I have read that the books are more depressing as compared to the Disney-fied version so. I’m keeping my Disney-fied version, thank you very much!
Historical Romance that I NEED to Read ASAP
added October 2012 | published 1987
I enjoyed Meagan McKinney’s Gilded Age series, Lions and Lace and I want to read this book! I know this is super bodice ripper-y and it has a lot of crazysauce but I WANT THIS BOOK NAAAWWW!
added April 2013 | published 1999
This is another book that sounds like it has crazy sauce written all over it! It sounds like a Sound of Music involving A LOT of kids and I expect, a lot of craziness! Also, it is Teresa Medeiros! I can’t believe I haven’t read this book yet!
added July 2013 | published 2012
I love any romance involving investigators and Scotland Yard and this is romance steampunk set in Victorian England? SIGN ME UP! But yeah… I don’t know why I haven’t even read this yet!
The “Serious” Books
added May 2010 | published 1951
Teenage angst and rebellion. Also, this book has been on a lot of MUST read before you die lists so my interest was piqued! Since this looks like “required” reading, I will probably not even get to this book!
added May 2010 | published 1945
This is the same as the previous book mentioned and has also been on those 100 best books lists and it supposedly social commentary, right? But I probably won’t read it again. I think this would feel too heavy for me, you know? Give me light and fluffy books, please!
Have you read any books before?
Which ones should I absolutely read? Which book is soooo worth the read?
yup I agree about Animal Farm! It has been on my TBR FOREVER too because ugh I never feel in the right state of mind 🙂

I know!
If you do ever think about picking up Animal Farm, at least it is under a 100 pages. 😉 I read the first Wizard of Oz book last year and actually really enjoyed it. 😀

I didn’t know that it was under 100 pages! I’kk have to check it out!
I read both your “serious books” in high school. I thought Catcher was overrated, but I liked Animal Farm. I read all but the Princess Bride from your movie list, when I was really young. My friends and I watched PB a zillion times in high school, so I don’t think I could read that book.

I have heard that about Catcher as well, but it is a classic so I thought I would give it a shot!
This is a nice mix of books. I loved Charlotte’s Web the movie but also have not read the book. I’m sure I will be in tears if I read it. I remember reading your “serious” books in high school but not sure if I would want to read them again.

Charlotte’s Web was amazing! I remember rewatching the animated movie over and over again… but yeah, I agree it would probably bring me to tears if I read the book…
You have such a great list of books to read soon. I still need to read Lions and Lace, and have it in the plans for reading this month. But you know there are some great books that are bodice rippers.
You HAVE to read Charming The Prince, its amazing. And if you like the sound of music retellings….have you read My Favorite Bride by Christina Dodd, its so good. I think you would enjoy it.
Hope you are having a great week darling.

Thanks for the recs, Renee! Now I want to add Charming the Prince on my MUST read pile now!
I’ve only read The Catcher in the Rye and I thought Holden was extremely pretentious. I didn’t like his character very much.
I actually don’t know what this book is all about but I’ve seen it in a lot of lists for books to read before you die or something… LOL I guess I should look at what this book is about! ?
