I am so pleased to welcome Jess Michaels to my blog! She is here promoting her newest release Her Perfect Match available now.
Can you tell us a little bit about Her Perfect Match?
In HER PERFECT MATCH, Vivien Manning, who has meddled in the love lives of the couples in the first two Mistress Matchmaker books, has finally met her match in former lover Benedict Graystone. But while she enjoys all the pleasures he can very capably provide, she also knows that soon she’ll be gone and she may never see him again.
Oh, sounds delicious. I can’t wait to read it! Anyway, Vivien Manning, the heroine in this book, is the Mistress Matchmaker and a mistress herself. What made you decide to base your last book on her life?
I will be starting a new series on July 2. The series is called “The Pleasure Wars” and the first book is TAKEN BY THE DUKE. My hero and heroine’s families have waged a war against each other for generations, one that has left death and despair in its wake. Now my hero, Christian, has decided ultimate revenge could be taken by taking Ava (my heroine). What happens next is a battle neither one of them is prepared for.
So tell us Jess, where do you get inspiration of your books from?
It really depends on the book. Sometimes a character is what I am inspired by (like Vivien), sometimes it’s a scene that pops into my head. I get ideas from history sometimes. They really just appear and I don’t ask to many questions.
I would love to write more of my historical romances but at this point there are no takers. We do have some concepts floating about out there and if I do end up writing historical again, you can be sure I would share that news online everywhere. 🙂 The nice thing is that my Jess Michaels books are written in the same time period so it isn’t that much of a leap for readers to enjoy Jess (I hope).
I agree. My fave Jenna Petersen book to date is Lessons From a Courtesan and I think it is pretty close to your Jess Michaels books.
What is your favorite Jess Michaels book to date?
If you were stranded on a deserted island, who would you want to be stranded with?

She will do anything for him…except surrender.Vivien Manning, the notorious Mistress Matchmaker, is tired. Tired of the parties, tired of the lovers, tired of being her. So she decides to leave London behind once and for all and start a whole new life. But before she goes, she must tie up some loose ends, so she makes a list which includes one man she’s never been fully able to let go:Benedict Graystone.Benedict was broken when Vivien broke off their affairs years ago. So when she comes back into his life… and his bed, he isn’t certain of anything except the power of their desire. But as Vivien moves ever closer to disappearing forever, both of them begin to question if the past can be overcome and if love might be the one loose end that cannot be neatly tied up.
Being stranded on an island away from reality always sounds great until you get there! That's why I love books they help us escape reality.
I loved Her Perfect Match and really looking forward to Taken by the Duke, its by far my favorite cover!!
Great interview! Hey Zaina, how about being stranded with a hunky man with brains to boot and an entire library of book? He has to have brains because you want to have an intelligent conversation every once in awhile. LOL!
