Last month on I Heart Romance
I really wish I have a lot of things to say but I’m last week was the most exhausting week of all. I just wanted to run and hide and forget this current world we have right now doesn’t exist.
Many things happened. Actually, it feels like a million things are happening.

We had to say goodbye to our cat, Twylah a couple of weeks ago and is truly heartbreaking. We knew her time was short. And to be honest, we had been holding on to her for a while now. But it still does not dull the ache that we feel. Momo has lost her Atsi Twylah and is feeling pretty lonely now.
Now, we also had a lot of things happen in Romancelandia just this weekend. I can’t even put it into words. I was also going to post a discussion about diversity in audiobooks but I am holding it off until next week. Things are pretty raw right now and there seems to be a divide between diverse reviewers and bloggers and authors – especially some authors of color who are also championing diversity. It’s been eye-opening, to say the least.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, there are a lot of Twitter threads discussing this. The books in question are also here and here.
Then, we also have a certain author who has shown time and time again her bad behavior. This time, it is so appalling it just needs to be called out.

I can’t believe I have 49 mutuals with this author. To be honest, I haven’t read her books and I have not been following her. But I just want to let everyone know who this author is. For more context, you can search for her on Facebook and Twitter. I just won’t deal with her negativity on my blog. But I also want to put it out there so more people are informed and can make their own decisions.
Now the real world.
I really don’t want to deal with the real world, but yeah. This last week has been a mess. I don’t want to discuss politics here, but this goes beyond politics now. Again, I urge everyone to exercise your right to vote. REGISTER to vote!
Escaping reality.

I’ve been playing this addictive Ramen Craze game on my iPad to try to distract me from reality. I can actually concentrate if I’m playing and listening to an audiobook, so this really keeps me focused on other things.

Reading Progress

I only read 10 books in August, and one was a DNF. Since it was an anthology, and I read one novella, I am counting it as a read.
