This is a really late post because today was my birthday! That’s right, I am officially 30-something years old! Today is also my Blogoversay! Yes, my little spot on the interwebs is now 6 years old! Oh, and I just realized that I have over 30,000 views in total! OMG! THANK YOU SO MUCH, WORMIES! To new blog visitors and returning blog visitors thank you so, so much!
To celebrate, I am hosting a giveaway! TWO winners will be eligible to win any book (up to $20) from my recommendation list! Just visit my Adult Romance Recs, New Adult Book Recs, and YA Book Recs and pick any book from the list! This is also open internationally as long as Book Depository ships!
More on the giveaway below! ??
Anyway, I don’t do anything special for my birthday. When I’m in the Philippines, I usually throw a birthday party. Here in the US, my family just goes out for dinner. And of course, I curl up and read a good book to unwind after the long (exciting?) day!
My coworkers took me out to lunch in Pasadena at one of our favorite Thai restaurants Saladang Song. I got my usual curry noodle soup and corn fritters! Nom nom nom
For dinner, my mom and I went to The Cheesecake Factory and had cheesecake… duh! Pierre is currently in the Gulf of Mexico but we were messaging each other throughout the day. Yeah, the foibles of a long distance relationship.
For fun, I also created a “How Well Do You Know Me” quiz! I did this a few years ago and it was fun looking at the answers!

How do you celebrate your birthday?
Did you answer the quiz? Share how well you did!
Congrats for your blogoversary and happy belated birthday! For me, the best way to celebrate my birthday is eating homemade cake with my family 🙂
Thank you! Homemade cake is the best!
Happy birthday and blogoversary! I love your photos.

Thank you, AJ!
I celebrate my birthday by first working out, then eating my favorite foods for lunch and dinner–sushi, noodles, and fish. I never cook dinner as this is my day off from “serving” my family. Congrats on your anniversary and happy birthday too!
Sushi and noodles! One of my favorites, too!! Thanks for stopping by Danielle!
Happy birthday and blogoversary! I don’t do anything special for my birthday. I might get myself a special sweet treat though. I occasionally go out to lunch on with family the weekend closest to my birthday. We just don’t do much for them any more since there are no kids in my family.
We don’t have kids in the family too but we try to go out.. my husband is currently at work so we didn’t go out of town.. maybe when he gets back we will go on a trip 🙂
Happy, happy, happy birthday and happy blogoversary!! ? I usually celebrate my birthday with family and friends, just eating cake and having fun. Sometimes I indulge myself with a trip abroad since I love traveling.
Thank you for a generous giveaway!!
CAKE is always good! I was in the Philippines last year for my birthday and it was fun!! I love traveling, too and I wish I could travel more often!
We usually just do a family dinner as well- happy birthday and blogoversary!!
Thank you, Sabrina!
I usually have family coming over 🙂 happy B-day and blogoversary!!
Thank you, Aly!
lately? just staying at home
EEEPP! Happy birthday to yoooouu!
For my b-day, I normally spend time with family 🙂
That’s the best way to spend your birthday!
Happy birthday and happy blogoversary! I always celebrate my birthday with my family.
Thank you, Febie! That’s the best way to spend your birthday!
Happy Blogoversary!!! Happy birthday, too!!! Usually I just go out to eat for my birthday, too. One year I tried getting together a few select friends to go indoor kart racing and all the ones who lived in my city backed out. I had one friend who drove 2 hours to celebrate with me. We ended up going bowling.
Oh that sucks! But bowling sounds like a fun way to spend your birthday!
Happy birthday and blogoversary!! It’s so awesome that you’ve been blogging for six years! I don’t know all that much about you (I feel like we need to change that, lol), but I’m gonna give that quiz a try! So, if you see some answers that are all wrong, it’s probably me, lol.

And I left a comment before entering for the giveaway so I’m back again! lol I don’t really celebrate my birthday, but I have been sick on it for the past couple of years so there is that. Usually I just cuddle down with a new video game or book and just relax. 🙂

Oh that sucks! But still awesome to play video games or read a book! That’s the perfect way to spend your day!
Good luck with the quiz! It’s mostly nonsense and pretty easy to figure out… LOL I have actually been blogging for more than 10 years in total.. this blog has only been live for 6… LOL 🙂
2/5 – I should be ashamed of myself. Fun though.
Birthdays are all about family and food for us. Gifts are good.
LOL, no worries! At least now you know a few things about me! 😀 Family is the best people to hang out with!
Happy Birthday and blogoversary! You are still a baby compared to how old I am lol. I stumbled upon your blog a couple months ago but I got 4 out of 5 answers right lol. I don’t like to make a big fuss about my birthday. My birthday is close to July 4th so I always take time off from work, even if we don’t have anything planned. I’m happy with celebrating the day at a restaurant or with take out, so I don’t have to cook lol. I hope you had a great celebration. I wish you many more years of birthdays and of blogging fun!

Thank you, Kathy! I feel older, though! My kid cousins and nieces and nephews are all grown up now!! I would have taken a few days off, too . if my husband was here but we will probably go out of town when he comes home at the end of this month.. 🙂
Also.. happy you got 4/5 answers right! ?
I don’t do a lot of birthday celebrations but I’ll usually treat myself to something
I usually buy some things for me, too! Like books!
I’m old so I try to avoid acknowledging my birthday 🙂

LOL I forgot my exact age, too! I had to use a calculator to double check my age!
So many happy things to celebrate! Glad you had a nice birthday, and congratulations on 6 years! That quiz was a lot of fun too.

Thanks for the giveaway and Happy blogoversary! And Happy late Birthday! I love celebrating my birthday with a walk on the beach. 🙂
Thank you, Cali! I used to spend my birthday at the beach when I was younger!
Usually dinner out. that’s all. Nothing real extravagant, though this year is the big50-so am trying to figure out what I want to do!!

Congrats on the big 50! I prefer going out of town… nothing fancy, but at least do something that is not the usual 😀
Happy Birthday AND Blogoversary! my god, that must have been exciting, especially since turning 30 (I don’t pay much attention to my age, but it seems that 20s, 30s and so are The Big Ones, they somehow feel a bit different). Hope you had a great time.
I don’t celebrate! I even try to get people not to mention it, so I just get a hug from my mom and maybe a couple emails. I’m just terribly awkward, shy and introverted – also a very weird individual all in all *shrugs*
I know how you feel, Reese. Ugh! Even if I don’t remember my age, I look at my nieces and nephews and they’re all grown up now!!
Happy blogoversary!!!
I usually celebrate my birthday with my family and friends.

Happy birthday!
I celebrate by going out to dinner with my husband and kids. 🙂
Thanks, Christine! My husband was at work for my birthday, though. But we’ll celebrate again when he comes home at the end of this month! 🙂
Happy birthday and blogoversary! Well, I always get two birthday celebrations. One with my mom’s side and one with my dad’s side. Even at the age of 45 I get to do that. 🙂 Always have a wedding type of cake decorated like a birthday cake on my dad’s side.

Oh! Any cake is FUN! I had a party last year and I had a Harry Potter inspired cake! LOL
Happy belated birthday and blogoversary! We party a lot because me and my sister-in-law share our birthdays on the same day. We usually go on a trip.
Thank you, Ramona!
I’m a little late, but happy birthday! And also happy blogoversary! Six years is awesome! Sounds like you had some fun for your bday 🙂 My birthday is coming up this month too, but I’m just planning on enjoying a good book and relaxing.

Ohhh advance happy birthday! Reading is an awesome way to spend your birthday!
First, I have to tell you that I enjoy your reviews, and I’m a historical romance fan. I celebrate my birthday with a treat, usually a brownie or a cookie.
Thank you, Kathy! A brownie would be an awesome birthday treat! Even better if it’s topped with ice cream!
Wooow, so many things to celebrate! Hope you had a lovely birthday, Ezrah! And of course, happy blogiversary! Six years is a long, long time! I wish you many more ♥
How do I celebrate my birthday? Honestly, curling up and reading a good book is exactly my thing. I’m an introvert too, and I’m not a big fan of parties! But of course, cake is always there! ahahaha
CAKE! I love cake! Also, reading a book is an awesome way to spend your birthday!
I don’t do a lot for my b-day, just the regular family gathering. However, for that day I always buy myself a lot of ice cream. Crazy, I KNOW lol It’s like my personal tradition xD Happy birthday and happy anniversary for the blog!!!!!
Thank you, Grace! I love to eat ice cream, too! We used to have cake and ice cream for birthdays. But now, we usually just go out to dinner!
Happy blogoversary!
Some fave foods for the diner and a cake.
I celebrate my birthday by eating cake with my family.
Happy blogoversary! I eat cake to celebrate my birthday.
“How do you celebrate your birthday?” With tears and coffee!
i go out with my friends and have dinner and then we go back to one of our houses and hang out.
By taking my kids to do something they really want to do! Doing something that makes them really happy is the best birthday present to myself. My husband usually brings me breakfast in bed, too. 🙂
