This year has been a revelation for me in that I am starting to read outside of my comfort zone! While I have read multiple genres in the past, I haven’t really been hooked into reading a lot outside of my usual reads! I’m absolutely thankful that I took the chance!
10 Amazing Books I Read This Year
… so far
the book that broke me
I read Recovered a few weeks after it was released and I can’t believe that I waited so long! This book was everything I love and more! In fact, it felt a little too close to home, which is why this book broke me.
the book that was amazing on audio
Wanderlust was my first Lauren Blakely book and it hasn’t been my last! Wanderlust read like women’s fiction but it had me in tears! Plus, it’s free on the Audible Romance Package and the hero POV is read by Richard Armitage!
the book that made me fall in love with Women’s Fiction
My Oxford Year was another 5-star read for me and I even met the author! This book also broke me and was probably the first New Adult Women’s Fiction that I ever read! It’s not one of my favorite genres and I will definitely give it a chance!
The book that had an awesome dog
I love animals in books but I don’t want them to die! I can’t handle it, honestly! I am soooo glad that nothing happened to my pal Southpaw here because he is one adorable book dog! Haven’t read Follow yet? You MUST!
the book that made me laugh out loud
Melt for You was an awesome slow-burn book that made me appreciate good, sizzling banter! Melt for You was a surprise for me and I’m so glad I gave this book a chance! Also, there were scenes where I had to laugh and cry all at the same time!
the book that mirrored reality
I feel bad that this book mirrored reality. I picked this up around the time the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks happened, so it was really disconcerting. I loved The One You Fight For so much and I was bawling while reading this book and I think my husband couldn’t understand why I was sniffling!
the book that had one kick-ass heroine
Phoenix Unbound was another shocking read for me this year! Picture one kick-ass heroine with power and a moody alpha hero that I could not help but root for!
that old book that I finally read
I didn’t expect to be bowled over by a book but this is what happened when I listened to It Had to be You for the very first time! It was amazing, emotional, and the banter was amazing! I also loved the fact that a woman who everyone thought was flighty was an amazing heroine!
the book that celebrated diversity
The Year We Fell Down is everything a new adult romance should be! I love both the hero and heroine and I loved that the heroine was in a wheelchair and used crutches ost of the time to get around the house and school! This book had a nice blend of romance, decisions, and just getting through school.
the book that made me believe in love
Oh, this book broke me! Until Friday Night was an awesome read and really, it felt unique! I loved the heroine and the hero and basically everything about this book. I loved that this dealt with real issues teens face these days!
What are the books that you are thankful for?

Great list of books here. The ones that I have read, I’ve adored and the ones I haven’t? I want to read them so bad! Love this post!
Yes! I was really grateful that I started reading contemporaries!
Yeah these are a great list of books although quite a few of these surprisingly I haven’t read. Susan Elizabeth Phillips I have had on my TBR forever. I am glad that you enjoyed Grace Draven, I love her books.
