Welcome to my newest format! I will be updating the look of my blog sometime in the next few weeks in time for January! I am looking at a clean minimalistic theme and each post will reflect that. This is my first review that will feature the newest minimalistic theme. I have kept all other fonts and formatting the same.
MY THOUGHTS
“A smashing end to an awesome series!”
A Measure of Deceit is the third and final book in the Ladies Book of Pleasures series (A Matter of Sin #1, A Moment of Passion #2) and focuses on the author herself, Lady Grace Hollis, Duchess of Jameswood! When I read the first book in the series, I wasn’t expecting that it was Grace who was the author of this infamous book of pleasures. It was a wonderful surprise when I found out about it.
Jess Michaels doesn’t disappoint! As with the first two books in the series, A Measure of Deceit turned on the heat and the romance. I love that despite being an erotica, it still stayed true with the romance aspect. AMoD was a fast read for me and I was able to finish it in a couple of night (so I have to sleep, too!). Jess Michaels draws you in as the mystery of the infamous author of the infamous book! I absolutely love that the publisher himself, Connor Sheridan did not even know the real authors’ identity! But because Connor is the publisher, he and the “mysterious lady” have been corresponding for the few years and both have begun to develop a certain type of friendship – an intimacy. Connor has been hounding the Lady to write another book but she has refused.
When Lady Grace and Connor meet for the first time, sparks fly, with Grace keeping a very cool and frosty front. She also starts to panic that her identity as the author will be exposed and so she bargains with Connor to be his mistress and clothes come off! This is definitely a hot, HOT read.
Another mystery is also present. With a sinister someone threatening to expose the Lady’s identity to the ton. Apparently, someone wants to stop another publication of The Ladies Book of Pleasures! The plot thickens when we find out the real villain!
AMoD is fast paced and well written. With all the hot sex scenes very tastefully done and spread out through the book. Again, Jess Michaels is very good at using sex to enhance the hero and heroine’s romance.
I am happy and disappointed that the series has come to a close, but AMoD is indeed a smashing end to another awesome series!
