2022 has been a year.
2022 has also been a year where my reading has not been at its best. In fact, there was a month when I only read one book! I also did not have an End-of-the-Year Statistics post written last year! I know, I wasn’t in the best head-space last year. But, you can still read my 2019 End-of-the-Year Statistics and check Goodreads for my 2020 reads, and 2021 reads.
ANNUAL READING STATS
In 2022, I read a total of 78 books, with only 7 new-to-me authors read, and 8 rereads. This year, all of my books are romance novels and I did not branch out and read any other genre.

Genre Breakdown
Although there is a lot of genre overlap – especially with contemporary romance, I managed to categorize them as best as I can. I read mostly contemporary romance and paranormal romance books. I even managed to finish the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole!

Reads in Detail
I was also able to read more books in Abigail Owen’s dragon shifter books. I really enjoy reading that time of shifter romance. At the end of the year, I was reading a few dark, contemporary romances.

It’s also no surprise that my 6-Star Reads are from the Immortals After Dark series! I had a lot of 5-star rated books in that series!
I had 2 DNFs in 2022, which is very rare for me since I pretty much DNF pretty quickly. This time, I DNF’d at about the halfway mark. At least I am giving books a chance now.
I am such a mood reader, so it’s really no surprise that I have been very picky with my reads in 2022.

Star Rating in Detail

Format Breakdown
I’ve been listening to more audiobooks versus reading them digitally or physically. I still collect physical copies, but not for reading. Audiobooks are just so convenient for me since LA traffic is notorious, so I mostly listen about 2-3 hours per day just driving to work. I’ve also sped up my audiobooks to 1.2x speed. I’m not sure I can go any faster.

Pages & Length
Since most of my reads this year have been ebooks and audiobooks, I decided to track how long each book is by format.

Most-Read Authors
As I’ve stated, I finally finished – i.e. I am not up-to-date with The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole which means this year, she is my most-read author! Next is Penelope Douglas since I read her Fall Away series and Devil’s Night series.
