My name &
Where I’m From
Hello, everyone! My name is Ezrah! Yes, that is Ezrah with an H! This is the second year I’m joining Love-a-thon so I already introduced myself last time. If you want to read more about me, read my 2016 Love-a-thon post. You can also read more on my about page.
I also blog from Souther California! Canoga Park, to be exact! Hello, fellow Angelenos!
But I was born and raised in Dumaguete City, Philippines! I will be vacationing there in April, so stay tuned for more photos! 🙂
My Reading
History
I have been a reader for as long as I can remember! In fact, my aunt swore that I wouldn’t sleep without a story read to me. I also wanted to get books for Christmas since I was little. Yep, not toys, but books!
I think the aha moment when I finally admitted that I was a legit bookworm was when I was in second grade when I read A LOT of childhood fairy tales and stories. In third grade, I read A Wrinkle in Time, and the Nancy Drew series and the rest is history. I also grew up reading Sweet Valley, which I absolutely LOVED!
Me &
I Heart Romance & YA
I have been blogging for about 10 years now. My blogs have come and gone, but I Heart Romance & YA is my longest running blog to date!
I Heart Romance & YA is a mash-up of my favorite genre: YA and Adult romance. This blog actually started as a purely adult romance review blog because, at that time, I hadn’t read any awesome YA books. Then, I picked up These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner and I was HOOKED to YA! So now, my blog focussed on both main genres.
My blog mostly features a mixture os reviews, bookish discussions, and lists! I also have blog posts on Bookish Inspired Clothing and I am trying to revive my feature Hubby Reads YA. Of course, I have to get Pierre read YA, though. He hasn’t read in over a year! I think the last one he read was Winter by Marissa Meyer and I wasn’t able to ask him what he thought about it! Ack!
My Bookish
Poison
I mostly read romance. Historical Romance, to be exact. But I read YA, too. Mostly sci-fi and fantasy. I used to read a lot of dystopian YA, but I think I’m pretty much over it right now.
I also remember saying that I will NOT read contemporary, but I just stuck my foot in my mouth! I now read contemporary NA and also so romantic suspense!
I still read a little Paranormal romance BUT my absolute favorite genre is Historical Romance.
Favorite food
& Beverage
I have a LOT of favorites! Most especially FOOD. I can say CAKE, CHOCOLATE and ICE CREAM but I will share a few others.
Filipino Food: Pork Adobo, Kinilaw, Balbacua, Kare-Kare
International Food: Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Ramen, Sushi Rolls, Xiao Long Bao, Tom Kha Kai
Beverages: Hot Chocolate, Caramel Macchiato, Mocha Latte, Thai Tea, Milk Tea
When I’m not
Reading
Oh gosh, I HAVE a LOT of hobbies! I actually have a full post about this here. Right now, though, I have been coloring more! And yes, I MAKE soap, too! I will also be sharing my DIY hobby later!
Favorite
TV Shows
There are really too many to mention but I will share only the favorites!
Anime
Reality Shows
Favorite
Movies
Disney Animated
Me & My
Jams
I am more of a 90s kid and I also listen to a lot of 70s and 80s music. My genres range from alternative, heavy metal, rock, and even pop.
Favorite Childhood
Books
Jules Verne
Jules Verne is one of my favorite Sci-Fi/Adventure writers. I absolutely love 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Captain Nemo is notorious!) and A Journey to the Center of the Earth (I’ve always LOVED to visit Reykjavik). Also, he sort of “predicted” the future!
Nancy Drew Mysteries
When I was a young warthog (ahem), I wanted to be exactly like Nancy Drew! I gobbled up all the mysteries. This was also one of the books that I could check out from my school library.
Sweet Valley Series
I was ADDICTED to Sweet Valley. From Kids, Twins, High, University, Unicorns, Saga, and even the special editions, I DEVOURED them.
A Wrinkle in Time
I read this book while I was in third grade and I LOVED it so much. I was glued to this book that I read it in one sitting.
Michael Crichton
There was a time where I was obsessed with dinosaurs so I went ahead and read Jurassic Park before I saw the movie. YEP, I saw a LOT of differences between the book and the movie. This was also the book that I read first before watching the movie (that I know of).
From Books to
Movies & TV
I love that a lot of books have now been turned into movies or TV shows. Below are books and/or series that I want to be adapted to either TV or movie. Throne of Glass is already optioned for a series on Hulu so there is that!
Books I want to read
in 2017
Adult Romance
Young Adult
Are you participating in the Love-a-thon? Which books are you anticipating to read this year?
This is my second year joinin the Love-a-Thon and I’m so excited to be here! Your blog is so cute, I’m going to explore it now 🙂 I’ve run several blogs during the last ten years, but, just like you, the current one is my longest running blog.

Thank you, Alice! I love blogging so much but I also suck as promoting my blog.. haha
Hello Ezrah! Nice to meet you 🙂
I also wanted a bed time story every time before I went to sleep. It was one of my favorite routines while growing up.
Hot chocolate is the best beverage to drink in the winter.
Game of Thrones <3
And yeay, Beauty and the beast is my all time favorite and I also LOVE Little Mermaid, Mulan & Aladdin.
I can't wait to read Wonder Woman.
Yes to Beauty and the Beast! I am a little nervous with the upcoming live action remake because I know I will be disappointed. Although I wasn’t with Maleficent.. but I hated the live action Cinderella. Ugh!
I love the sound of your Hubby Read YA feature! I can relate so well, my husband used to read YA with me (if I bugged him enough). He hasn’t read anything in years though. 🙁
I’m really excited to read The Flame and the Mist too!
It was so nice to meet you!
Lori recently posted…2017 Love-a-Thon: An Introduction
Nice to “meet” you, too Lori! Hubby has been in an anime craze for maybe over a year now so he has stopped reading YA… I think the last one he read was Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas… haha
I’m really happy you’re joining us for the Love-a-Thon again!! <3 And yay for going back to the Philippines for a vacation. Say hi to the homeland for me! Also, yesssss to Avatar: The Last Airbend and Legend of Korra. Did you see the preview for the comics for Korra? 😀
NO!! OMG I will look for them ASAP! Eeekkk!!
Also, I will definitely say Hi! haha I will be posting photos too!
Legend of Korra and Avatar are two of my favorite shows too!! I love them to pieces<3 And I'm so happy Sword Art Online made your list as well! I love that one! I made Alexa watch it last year and she got just as hooked as me!! Also, Sweet Valley High<3 I feel like I owe so much of my love of reading to that series! I also love that you created your own question for favorite Disney movies because it's actually impossible to choose only one 🙂

So much awesomeness in this post! I love Sword Art Online and Fairy Tail. Awesome animes. Humans is a great show, too. I’ve only watched the first season but I remember starting it thinking “nope!” and then after a couple episodes I was totally invested.
The first episode had me hooked! It was super different and just weird and I absolutely love robots with feelings. I love The Bicentennial Man because of this reason! 🙂
