Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Happy Tuesday, Wormies! How is 2017 treating you so far? This month will be full of end of the year lists, and favorites lists, so brace yourselves with a few posts in that vein from me in the next few weeks.
Today, I am sharing my favorite books that I read in 2017, so far. I mean, as of writing this post. I thought about listing books published in 2017 but I decided against it because this year was the year of reading previously published book. And this is NOT a bad thing!
Fresh, Fun & Sexy
Sweet Filthy Boy | Beautiful Lawman
This year was a year of reading outside the box for me. Overall, I read a bunch of awesome contemporary romances and on the top of the pile are Sweet Filthy Boy and Beautiful Lawman.
Steampunk that’s Out of this World
The Falconer | Evernight
Steampunk was all the rage a number of years ago, and wouldn’t you know, I just read a bunch of them this year! The Falconer was such a revelation and Evernight heated up the pages!
Historical Girl Power
Devil in Spring | Bedchamber Games
I love the “modern” historicals because it shows amazing girl power! Devil in Spring had a heroine who created her own boardgame, based on a real-life female who created Monopoly and Bedchamber Games had the heroine pretending to be female to practice law!
Fantastical Worlds that Blew Me Away
The Winter King | Defy the Stars
This year, I promised to read fantasy but I was sadly not into the genre. However, I managed to read a couple of outstanding fantasy books. The Winter King introduced me to epic fantasy romance and Defy the Stars had amazing AI in space!
Graphically Creative
The Throne of Glass Coloring Book | Wires & Nerve Vol. 1
I color on my downtime (well, sometimes) and I love the Throne of Glass Coloring Book so much! I also don’t read a lot of graphic novels but Wires and Never was an awesome read that is another amazing addition to The Lunar Chronicles world.
Bad Boys are Super Hawt!
Better When He’s Bad | Midnight Action
I am such a sucker for bad boys, especially in romance. This year, I picked up a few books that were also outside my box. Better When He’s Bad introduced me to the seedy underbelly of a Fast and Furious romance and Midnight Action introduced me to romantic suspense!
Angsty Teens and Swoon Worthy Heroes
Wait for You | Trust in Me
I just finished reading my very first Jennifer L. Armentrout book and I AM IN LOVE! I am not a fan of slow burn romance BUT Wait for You was perfect! I ugly cried and I want my own CAM! ? ❤️
Also, the companion Trust in Me was an awesome addition and gave me a peek into Cam’s POV.
Awesome Rereads
Halfway to the Grave | Between the Devil and Desire
I also reread a few of my favorites this year! Halfway to the Grave will always remain my favorite and I reread it after the last book in the Night Prince series came out! Between the Devil and Desire made me love the Scoundrels of St. James series again!
What are your favorite books read in 2017?

Happy to see Christina Lauren on the list. Their books are always a good mix of funny and sexy.
I know! It was such a surprise and I am so happy that I picked up their books 🙂
I love how you organized this post and that you took the time to separate everything into categories. It makes it so much easier to find the books we would be interested in the most! Thank you. Great post! <3

You’re welcome, Sophie! I had a hard time picking the books I liked so I separated them instead 🙂
The Falconer is a series I really want to start. It looks amazing. I was really surprised by how much I loved the Welcome to the Point series. I absolutely loved all three books, and Honor was good too.

I haven’t read Honor yet but I have a feeling it is going to tear at my heartstrings. I enjoyed the first couple of books in the Welcome to the Point series but I didn’t continue it ?
Ooooh Defy the Stars made my list too, it was actually my favorite of the year I think! I want to read The Falconer, I have heard good things. So glad that you had such a great reading year 🙂
