Happy Tuesday, Wormies! If you read my 2016 Year End Stats a couple of weeks ago, you will know that I read A LOT of back titles. As a result, I totally ignored a few titles that were my MUST READS for 2016. The horror, I know, but as you know, I am a mood reader, and these titles didn’t really catch my mood.
Anyway, I promise (fingers crossed) to read them this time around. Here’s hoping that I will finally read these titles in 2017.
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I actually received an ARC for this one at Yallwest BUT unfortunately, I had a hard time getting into the plot. This will probably be an audiobook listen for this year.
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, & Jodi Meadows
This is another book that I have been waiting to read but despite numerous times that I checked this out from the library, it was still left unread.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
I have heard a lot of good things about this book, but unfortunately, I avoided this because of the hype. Now that the hype has died down, I am now ready to read it!
Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge
I also received an eGalley for this book but I had a horrible time getting into this as well. Rosamund Hodge does have a very distinct writing style and because of this, it is pretty hard for me to get into reading wise, so this may be an audiobook listen for me.
Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill
Ahhh, this book came out at the end of 2016, so it is quite understandable that I haven’t read it yet.
Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
I have to be honest with you, my Wormies and admit that I have NOT read a single Julia Quinn book yet. However, I went to meet her in Lancaster, CA earlier this year and she was so much fun! So yes, I do have a copy of this book but I still haven’t read it!
The Danger of Desire by Sabrina Jeffries
Sabrina Jeffries is one of my favorite authors and it pains me to say that I wasn’t able to read this book last year. I will be reading this title this year, though!
Happily Bedded Bliss by Tracy Anne Warren
Another book that I was waiting for last year that I think slipped my mind. I will be rectifying that this year, though!
Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare
I have an eGalley for this title but I had a hard time relating with the heroine. I wanted to read Piers’ story but Charlotte was a little unlikeable for me. I really do want to read this book, though. So this year, I will be!
The Fairest of them All by Cathy Maxwell
I have a hit and miss relationship with Cathy Maxwell, but the plot is just too juicy to resist!
What 2016 titles did you miss reading last year but you promise to read this year?
oh I really liked Fairest of Them All as well as Danger of Desire. I didn’t get to Warren’s book either but want to this year. Love her work.

YES OMG I love Sabrina Jeffries! 🙂 I’m actually part of her street team! I’m currently halfway through Fairest of Them All and I’m actually not enjoying it as much. There is just too much instalove and the story feels a little rushed to me… 🙁
I’ve heard great things about My Lady Jane and have to read it sometime this year too! For the romance books, which one would you say is a must read?! I feel like I didn’t read as many romance novels as I usually do last year. I reread some but barley picked up some new ones so I need to change that this year 🙂
Ohh, there are a LOT that I enjoyed last year! Lisa Kleypas is the best bet and she is my favorite historical romance author EVER! Her Wallflowers are the best! I also love to Sabrina Jeffries, her historical romances have more mystery to them. Hellions of Halstead Hall is my favorite series. For contemporary, Jennifer Probst is AWESOME (recommending Searching for Beautiful), Kristen Proby, and Elle Kennedy. Her romantic suspense series: Killer Instincts, is AMAZING! (recommending Midnight Action) her New Adult books, the Off-Campus series is amazing, too!
I never got around to Tessa Dare’s 🙁

I KNOW!! ME TOO!!! :((( so many sad faces for this one!

I heard a lot of good things about My Lady Jane and it is written by 3 amazing authors, too!
I loved Rebel of the Sands so I hope you get to that one soon, especially with the second book about to release soon. It was a refreshingly good YA Fantasy!
Rebel of the Sands was a favorite of mine last year, so you should definitely read that one. I really enjoyed Heartless too.

I had a really hard time with Heartless, though 🙁 This might be good as an audiobook! And I will def add Rebel to my immediate TBR
Ooh you’ve got a really good list there! I’m amazing read most of them haha though it did take me forever to read Rebel of the Sands! Hope you love them when you get to them!

Thanks, Cyn! I already read one from this list and I was really disappointed! hahaha 😀
AHHHHHH! You have so many great books ahead of you! You must make time/room for Rebel of the Sands, especially with the sequel publishing soon. REBEL is one of my favorite YA books of 2016! Do You Want To Start a Scandal is one of my favorite adult books of 2016. I liked that Julia Quinn one too, though that was my first Bridgerton book.
Happy reading, Zeee! =)
