What is in a name
that which we call a rose
Hello, everyone, my name is Ezrah. That’s EzraH with an H (added to make it “look” female). It’s also the 15th book in the Old Testament and yes, I have often been mistaken for male. For some reason, people immediately forget my name, hence, my friends call me Zr, which I later changed to Zeee. I am also a quarter Chinese so my name in Chinese calligraphy is 司徒燕燕 (wherein the last 2 characters is my name). And since I’m also Filipino, my nickname is Yan Yan (my Chinese name). Whew! That’s a lot. Let’s get to know each other! Read more about me here.
Where in the world
am I blogging from
I’m blogging for sunny Southern California! No geo-tracking please! *wink But I was born and raised in the Philippines.
Why is your blog called
I Heart Romance & YA
My blog was originally called I Heart Romance because I love historical romance, my favorite genre. Three years ago, I read this little book called These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner and was HOOKED to YA! I’ve already been a fan of Harry Potter (MG) but after reading Twilight (ehhh), I had abandoned YA for a few years. Anyway, because I also post YA reviews and mostly fangirl about YA books, I decided to add YA to my blog title. 🙂
These are my
poisons
As mentioned above, I love historical romance so you will find a lot of HR reviews on this here blog. I mostly read Regency and Victorian romance so you will find a lot of that here.
My second love would be YA so you will find a mishmash of YA sub-genres. I mostly read dystopian, sci-fi and fantasy YA so you will hardly find any contemps at all.
To post
or not to post
I wish I were as creative as a lot of the bloggers so I don’t have a lot of neat features on my blog. But I do Top Ten Tuesdays a lot because LISTS! I also have the Book vs Movie feature where I compare the books I read to the movie adaptation that I saw. Bookish Discussions is where I talk about anything bookish! And lastly, I had the Hubby Reads feature (trying to revive this but Pierre is not cooperating) where I force Pierre to read YA books. He has not been cooperating the last year or so because of anime and he hasn’t been reading. I honestly have been trying to force encourage him to read Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, but he has been dragging his feet.
ARCs I want
to get my hands on
I’m picking 5 ARCs that I want soooo bad.

This is my

- Lightning Crashes . Live
- Another Day . Dream Theater
- Her Name is Alice . Shinedown
- Thinking Out Loud . Ed Sheeran

Sarah J. Maas
BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH THE THRONE OF GLASS SERIES!
Let’s get to know each other my dahlings! Link me up to your Love-a-Thon Questionnaire!
I didn’t even wake up and appreciate the awesomeness of ’90s music until we were well in to the ’00s (an oblivious child, was I), but now I know: They were the golden years.
Me too! I the 90s, I was more into Barbies and kids stuff. I started high school in the late 90s and that’s where I appreciated them…
Thanks for stopping by, Danielle!
Ha!my dream library would also just be a picture of Belle’s library! So perfect
I’ve already seen a few blogs answer this question the exact same way: Belle’s library!
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my goodness how have I not heard of Bright Smoke, Cold Fire!! It sounds amazing!! But another book I’m going to have to wait impatiently for *sigh*. I just love forbidden love and re-tellings so Romeo and Juliette re-telling should be right up my street! Thanks for mentioning it! ❤

The cover was just revealed this week and it is GORGEOUS!
Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about Passenger. I have yet to read it though! I also haven’t read Alex Bracken’s Darkest Minds series. Nice to meet you!
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Me too! I still haven’t gotten hold of the book or audiobook yet. Did you see the book trailer?!
Haha, your Hubby Reads feature cracks me up! It’s so cool that your husband cooperates and actually reads the books you recommend…now I just need to figure out how to get my own husband to do the same thing. 🙂
I need to revive it ASAP, but he has been binge watching Naruto and other anime shows on Hulu/Netflix so he hasn’t! The first book I recommended to him was this little series called The Hunger Games. I’m currently pushing for him to read Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas!
I LOVE These Broken Stars! Definitely one of my favorites! I am super excited for Bright Smoke, Cold Fire and The Forbidden Wish too! Same for The Shadow Queen and Passenger! Why are there not more hours in the day?! I absolutely love your book boyfriends that you chose! I think the only one I don’t know is Thorne, because I’ve only read Cinder, but I’m hoping to remedy that this year!

Thorne appears in the second book, Scarlet and HE IS TO DIE FOR! He reminds me of Han Solo… who is also to die for!

Hi Ezrah! It’s nice to meet you. I love your name by the way, but I find it hilarious there’s an ‘h’ to make it more feminine. lol
I’ve scene the cover for The Shadow Queen but I didn’t know it was a Snow White retelling. I’m definitely going to have to check that out. Passenger and the Throne of Glass series are also on my tbr list… as well a a lot of other books you mentioned throughout this post. 😛 I own most of them, I just read slowly. *sigh*
Yes. Daryl needs to be on all the apocalypse squads! *insert high five emoji*
I love your blog by the way and I’m following you on Instagram now. 😀

Thanks, Elle! My parents thought it funny to name their only child after a male prophet… o.O
Oh, I read sloooowly too but I audiobook most of my YA reads and listen while driving to work. I live in LA so driving usually takes an hour to work and more in the PM so I get a lot of reading done this way!
